Publisher's Summary

Harry Dresden lives!

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness.

After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long. And now, her word is his command, no matter what she wants him to do, no matter where she wants him to go, and no matter who she wants him to kill. Guess which one Mab wants first?

Of course, it won’t be an ordinary, everyday assassination. Mab wants her newest minion to pull off the impossible: kill an immortal. No problem there, right? And to make matters worse, there exists a growing threat to an unfathomable source of magic that could land Harry in the sort of trouble that will make death look like a holiday.

Beset by enemies new and old, Harry must gather his friends and allies, prevent the annihilation of countless innocents, and find a way out of his eternal subservience before his newfound powers claim the only thing he has left to call his own… his soul.

"So glad to have James Marsters back. "

Story really starts to get interesting in this book. But the real winner is having James Marsters reading it.

    "Many surprises"

Urban Fantasy is such an interesting Genre. It can go off in fascinating directions. Cold Days has certainly done that. The layers keep piling on. Dresden is becoming so much more complex than I ever dreamed he would. Probably more than he dreamed he would. Like many urban fantasies, the foes keep getting more and more complicated, complex, and down right dangerous. We have gone from vampires and werewolves to others from outer places. Aliens from outer space? Or simply from another dimension? Hard to say, but from attempted descriptions, they are definitely different. Cold Days had the usual Dresden inner dialog going on endlessly. He sure can talk himself around in circles. There is also lots of action and mayhem that follows Dresden. There was a surprise or three in this story. Had me sitting up and saying, "What? Really?" Needless to say, there is no slowing of momentum in the story. It is still engaging and exciting. Looking forward to the next book.

"Yet another awesome entry in the series"

Every Dresden book has been awesome(with maybe the exception of Ghost Story). This might be my favorite book in the series thus far, but I've said that about each book after finishing it. James Marsters does a great job bring all the characters to life. I can't recommend this book/series enough!

    "Excellent! Marsters Shines Once Again!"

Butcher tells an awesome tale of magic and fairies and Marsters delivers perfection!

If you are a fan of the series and felt that Ghost Story was a bit off, this one is back and roaring to go!

The story is excellent and well written, and the narrator does an amazing job. His performance is the standard by which I judge other audiobooks. I find most of them wanting...
