Publisher's Summary

Retired, divorced banker, and now hot air balloon pilot Tim Feely doesn't know the world is being eaten alive by zombies. It's early in the morning, and the first of the undead are only now appearing on the eastern seaboard of the United States.

Right in Tim's town, in fact.

So when he takes Julie and Lucas up into the air for their first hot air balloon ride, before the news reports start, and before the car accidents and looting begins, he has no idea just how crazy the ride will be. After all, Lucas was just bitten by a "crazy heroin addict".

This standalone novella set in the apocalypse of Adrian Ring shows how one man, trapped with a ticking time bomb, tries to escape the inevitable to reunite with his daughter Malinda on the ground below.

Of course...the world he's tying get back to will never be the same if he puts his feet on the ground, ever again.

Adrians world does not disappoint!

This book was great! I love the Adrians Undead story series. It is refreshing to hear stories from the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. The scenario of being in a hot air balloon was definitely a good outllook on what could happen in that situation. I also loved the other storyline in this book and it was just as good if not better. It was definately a surprise and I was very pleased. I look forward to more Adrians Undead stories in the future! If you like zombie stories, you will love this. You don't have to read the AUD series before you read this book. I do suggest reading the entire AUD seriesfor any zombie fans.

Really enjoyed this journey to that day. highly recommend this whether or not you have listened to the other stories, but to enjoy it to the fullest, start with Dark Recollections.

Way too short! hehe

I suck at writing reviews. I'll give it a shot. This was one of my favorite stories from the series. It ended way too soon. Yah.. I get it. Novella. I would have loved another hour, though. The personal, family relationship and references to different characters in the AUD series sealed it for me. I love that. It's like becoming reacquainted with an old friend or something. I was a bit stymied by the last part, though. It brought you up to ten/15 years ish after the outbreak and it kind of came out of no where for me. I was wondering if the audio book skipped or something? I'm still confused about that, but... still want more and isn't that what it's all about? Definitely worth the purchase price, if you are a fan. And even if you haven't read the AUD series, this can kind of stand alone as well I think. This wouldn't be a bad place to start to dip your feet into the AUD series and see if it's for you :-) .
