Very good story..

If you're looking to read/listen something realistic don't read this book. BUT if you want to be entertained then I can recommend it.

This was the strangest book I’ve ever read, but I liked it. It was about 10 people with a number tattooed on their heal and eventually learned what they were. The numbers had been there since they were born and adopted out, and finally learned why they were numbered, before all the killing started.

The main characters were two cops, Tom, who had a number on his heal, and his partner Roy, who didn’t have a number, and Joan a producer from Los Angeles. Then they met Bert and he was so funny. Then they met Abe and he was just as funny. And, of course, the bad guys were really, really insane, all 6 of them.

It was a crazy story, but I liked it a lot.

No romance and the F-bomb was used 3 times.

As to the narration: Benjamin L. Darcie was only alright. He couldn’t do a woman’s voice worth a darn and he read without much emotion BUT he did a great job on all the men’s voices. Every man had their own distinct voice.

One of the best Techno thrillers

Konrath writes some amazing books with Jack Daniels but this one takes the crown! What a great story and super awesome characters!! I’ll be looking for all Mankowski stories! Read or listen to this ASAP! So great

Better than expected

Although this book was better than I expected it was still quite gory and violent. The saving grace was the overall story. The characters were very good and it held my interest even though the brutality in the beginning nearly made me return it. I am glad i stuck with it becasue it was quite good. If you don't mind a bit of blood and guts I recommend you give this book a listen.

very original

Hard to take a break from this book reading. Enjoyed that it was an unusual plot, historic characters meet modern day scientist project by powerful, rich, egomaniac.

Awesome thrill-ride

Storyline started off active, then slowed up and picked back up where it needed to.
