Publisher's Summary

Being psychic isn't as fun as it sounds....

Billionaire businessman Logan Mitchell is an empath. While his talent of reading people's emotions has come in handy in the business world, it's about to drive him insane. His ability triggers unbearable OCD attacks that leave him counting and cleaning until he collapses from exhaustion. If his psychic power doesn't make him crazy, the ghost that's haunting him soon will.

Psychic medium Allison Gray is drawn to Logan the minute she meets him. She shares his empathic abilities, and she can help him control the constant barrage of emotions. But a harrowing incident from her past has left her terrified of spirits, and the ghost in Logan's mansion is doing everything in its power to keep her away.

Logan has given up hope of ever having a normal life, until he meets Allison. But the ghost doesn't want to share him. Even if she can overcome her fears, loving him will mean risking her life.

Interesting plotline

This book was a little slow to get into but when it starts rolling it'll drag you with. I thought the narrator sounded believable also. The romance was sweet but I would have liked a little more relationship building.

Relationships are complicated? Add a ghost!

*I got a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review so here we go*

When I fist started this book I was a bit worried because by the synopsis seemed a story with a great potential and quite unique but for some reason I wasn’t able to “connect” with it. I realized it had more to do with the narrator than the story itself so I kept listening to it, suddenly one night when was getting ready for bed, I surprised myself thinking about the plot, the characters and how they would solve the predicament they were in. Yes Pulkinen caught me!
TO CATCH A SPIRIT is a very well written paranormal romance that will keep you intrigued at the same time that you accompany the characters while they learn how to deal with things like their past, their love and attraction, their fears, or the complexity of human emotions.

do you believe in ghosts?

Allison is a psychic/empath...she can sense feelings as well as see ghosts. She attends a house warming party for billionaire Logan and sees a ghost. Logan is intrigued by the beauty who ran out of his party and inquires of his bf. He learns that she is the bff of his real estate agent and he tracks her down. The initial meeting did not go so well, but the second meeting was, well let's just say it was steamy! Logan has always had a recurring nightmare of his future wife committing suicide and this has led him to avoid any relationship. How will this impact his fledgling relationship with Allison. Meanwhile, Logan hires a 'ghost busting' company to rid his house of the ghost but does not tell Allison. Unbeknownst to either of them, they're about to run headfirst into a very strong female ghost. This book was engaging, characters well developed and keeps you on your toes. Worth the read/listen.

Sweet

This story was interesting and sweet and angtsy all rolled into one.

It started off a little slow but picked up speed about halfway through the story and then I didn’t want to stop. The end was beautiful.

Beautiful story ❤

This was such a fresh and new idea to me. I absolutely loved not only the story, but how the author was able to switch back and forth so freely between the male and female leads without having to wait until the next chapter. It flowed effortlessly and had just the right amount of steam and angst. My only thing is that I don't feel that this narrator did these characters justice.

Could be a good book.

A decent plot was actually there. What ruined it was an inane sex scene every third sentence. Overdone. Also lead characters acted like hormonal immature teenagers....not the mature adults they are supposed to be.

Ghosts, and romance

Her father committed suicide and her mother died of cancer and this has made her think less of herself.
Doing her friend Tina a favor they go to a party and she feels everyone around her there negative thoughts, ambition, and she is pulled to two others, one is an attraction she doesn’t want to feel, the other is a sadness she try’s to help and finds it’s not real but a ghost. Existing from the party confused by her attraction to the very good looking and rich owner of the home Logan Mitchell , also by the ghost Allison decides to put it behind her and forget about it. However Tina is not happy that Allison had abandoned her and forces her to go to a benefit with her.
At this benefit she again sees the man she was attracted to Logan and this time she can’t avoid him, and finds that they are both attracted to each other. The attraction leads them to finding that they both have things in common one being they are both empathic, but they both also hold on to secrets. In getting to know each other Allison helps Logan to control his abilities, eliminate a threatening entity and family issues.
But no more don’t want to give the whole story away.

The quintessential trashy novel!

The majority of this novel was spent with the main character thinking about having sex, having sex, or talking to her best friend about having had sex. The entire story could have been told in about 20 pages saving us a further nine hours of torture. The narrator had such a mellow dramatic presentation style, that it was difficult to sit through. I certainly have no objection to a little romance in a novel, but there does need to be some mystery and suspense. This novel had neither. It was almost as though the author needed to pad out her story to feel a certain number of words rather than having a story to tell.
