Publisher's Summary

The second novel in New York Times best-selling author Jeaniene Frost's Broken Destiny series finds Ivy and Adrian rekindling their alliance - and passion - as the struggle for the fate of the world begins.

Conquering a supernatural realm turned out to be easier than getting over a broken heart. But her initial victory has made Ivy a target for revenge, forcing her to reunite with the dangerous - and dangerously sexy - Adrian. Ivy isn't sure which will be harder: finding the hallowed weapon that will repair the crumbling walls between the demon and human realms or resisting Adrian, who's decided that, come hell or high water, he will make Ivy his.

At first Adrian tried to resist his feelings for Ivy. Now, determined to break the curse that dooms their love, he's vowed to save her and to have her. If only he can persuade her to forgive his past sins. But defying destiny - and surrendering to the smoldering desire between them - will bring consequences and sacrifices they never imagined.

    "Narration to fast"

For a better listening experience play this story at a lower speed. Feels like the narrator was in a hurry to finish her tale.

"I thought I was listening to Vlad again...."

I was so disappointed with this book. I'm obsessed with Jeanine Frost and her books. But this one fell short for me. For starters Adrian's accent was changed and it sounded identical to what Tavia Gilbert used as Vlad Tepesh' voice. It was hard getting past that. But also this book was boring. I'm hoping she's just setting it up for an AMAZING 3rd book.

    "Another winner!"

As usual, another great story. I didn't care for the change in the characters accents from the previous books, but quickly acclimated to them.

As always Jeaniene and Tavia did it again. All of her books are great, and Tavia reads them wonderfully. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Book 2 in this series is a decent story to listen to. Great world and character My only gripe is the lead female character's tendency to be whiny

    "Great plot"

I have been waiting for the release of this book. I was not disappointed. I love the characters. Jeaniene Frost has a wonderful imagination and a knack for history. I hope this series goes on as long as the Cat & Bones series! (I hope she's working on another installment!!) Tavia Gilbert should be rewarded for her great work!!

"I will always give Jeaniene and Tavia 5 stars."

Their talents combined and separate are worth five stars every time. However, they're better together, a powerful team....The dynamic between Zach, Adrian and Ivy reminds me of the relationship between humanity and God....I love erotic romance but the sweetness of the special intimate moments in this book are perfect.

    "What an ending!"

I loved the Cat and Bones Night Huntress series, but I must say this series is even better. I think the character development is well done, but not forced allowing the reader to infer connection throughout the book. It has the great dialogue and story, like Night Huntress, however this has an interwoven theme that continues to emerge through the story and has left me saying "wow!" I can't wait for the next book. I have my fingers crossed this series will continue beyond the three planned.

I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)

    Story
"Pretty good addition to the series :)"

    3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good story and addition to the series. This takes place a few months after the end of book #1. Adrian hasn't been around for that time and Ivy is all pissed off thinking he didn't mean what he said and had moved on. What she doesn't know is that someone else put a magical block on Adrian contacting her or even letting her know he wanted to so when Adrian does show up, Ivy is cold to him. Ivy is slow to accept Adrian back in her life (even once she knows he was only absent because he was forced to be) and it isn't helped by her sister, Jasmine. For reasons I just didn't get, Jasmine felt the need to spread vitriol at or about Adrian whenever he was around. Considering the fact that the only time Jasmine had met Adrian was when he was helping Ivy save her from a demon realm and almost sacrificed his life to do so, I thought she was being rather selfish and horribly judgmental.

Ivy is still plagued by doubts about Adrian...most times she seems sure that he wont betray her and yet doubts creep in frequently. It's not something that's constantly harped on but considering the main premise of the story is the fact that Adrian is the descendant of Judas and is destined to betray Ivy, I'm coming to accept that these trust issues will continue to be a main part of the ongoing plot. Regardless of the shifting trust issues, Ivy and Adrian do become closer (very, very close) while trying to find the next holy relic. They go through a lot of drama and danger but are able to pull a win out in the end to proceed (if a bit reluctantly) on with their mission in the next book.

This was a pretty enjoyable story. Ivy is a good heroine but she's young and although she "saw things" growing up, that was her only real problem and so she's not as mature as she could be in dealing with everything. Still, she has a good heart and is determined to do her part even if she has to risk her life to do so. Adrian is a good hero and I like him...I just worry about his determination to save Ivy at any cost. Overall, I like this story and am interested in seeing how things work out so I'm planning to reading the 3rd book when it comes out.

    * note - II will say that if you've listened to her narration of the Night Huntress series, you'll find the voices in this to be similar to ones in those series. It didn't ruin the audiobooks for me but it was something I noticed.

    Story
    "Wasn't worth the wait."

This book was supposed to be published last year but for some reason it was pushed back until now. I wish I could say it was worth the wait but it wasn't. The story is okay but not great and I found myself becoming increasingly annoyed by Ivy. To be honest I found most of the characters rather tiresome as the story continued. Will probably read the next book in the series just to see how the story ends but I certainly won't be expecting much.
