Publisher's summary

To satisfy his late father’s wishes, hot and single billionaire Michael Conte must find a bride - someone who will fit into his traditional family back home in Italy - and fast, so his engaged sister will be allowed to wed. With no intention of being tied down, Michael "proposes" to fiery, free-spirited photographer Maggie Ryan: If she will play the part of his fiancée during her trip to Milan for a photo shoot, he will keep away from her married best friend, Alexa, and stop making Maggie nuts with their too-close-for-comfort flirtations.

But once in Italy, sexual tension sparks the hottest no-strings-attached arrangement on any continent. Could marriage be the most enticing trap of all?

Very enjoyable and romantic chic/lit

As with the previous book in the Marriage To a Billionaire series called The Marriage Bargain, this second book was fun, entertaining, sexy and was filled with lots of interesting characters who all had such great chemistry between each other - including the main characters Maggie, a successful photographer, and Michael, a Billionaire playboy, who have a love/hate relationship going on. You also hear how Alexa and Nicholas are doing from book 1.

Maggie has now passed on the spell book to Michael's sister Carina and it's her story next in The Marriage Mistake but we have to wait until November for it.

Worth a credit? Yes, pure romantic escapism.

Met Expectations

Would you consider the audio edition of The Marriage Trap to be better than the print version?

I really believe that this book was just as entertaining and thought provoking as the first. This book was just what I expected. I would recommed this book to anyone. My only suggestion is to read the Marriage Bargain first for some background of the two main characters.

Nice Continuation

If you could sum up The Marriage Trap in three words, what would they be?

Nice Read, I enjoyed it as much as the first book. Predictable but cute. Has funny moments that I really enjoyed.

What other book might you compare The Marriage Trap to and why?

I liked it as much as Crossfires. They are all in the catagorys like 50 Shades of Gray.

Which scene was your favorite?

It was well rounded. The author makes a smooth transition from the Marriage Bargain to this book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was "quippy" enjoyable and serious.

Any additional comments?

I am not a big one to explain a lot about a book. I just have to say I get bored very easily on books and this writter/story is entertaining and I hope there are more to come.

Nice Light Read

Any additional comments?

Nothing to heavy, nothing to crazy, no twist and turns. Just a nice contempoary romance :}

The fact that it was set in Italy in a different culture.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Maggie was my favourite character, loved her sass.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Just like I couldn't put the first book down, I couldn't stop listening to this one either!!

Another hit in this series

You know, this trope is so common, yet Jennifer Probst still made it a fun and entertaining audiobook.

Last book, it was mentioned that Maggie Ryan went on a blind date with Michael Conte but something happened and there was tension between the two. It was uncomfortable and didn't seem that is was a good match. Until book 2.

Maggie was a nice character who had a defense built around her heart to keep everyone out. Michael Conte seemed like a bossy jerk but it quickly became clear that he was the opposite of those things. One week of a fake marriage was all it was supposed to be but it seems they were each other's missing puzzle piece.

This book kept my attention. I liked it just as much as book 1. The writing was crisp and engaging. It wasn't too deep nor was it a shallow read. It gave just enough to build the characters up and keep the flow of the story.

This Woman Can Write - Give Her A Real Plot

This is the second book I have read by this author and the second I have reviewed. I've never done this before. They are the epitome of chick-lit romance. They come across as light and fluffy. The whole "Marriage to a Billionaire" tag line screams "shallow".

But the author has a way with words and a great sense of humor. Even though the plot in this book, just like in the first, is totally implausible, the characters that move the story forward are totally believable - if you take away the "billionaire" part, the repetitive fake marriage plot and the disconnected issues with the language - the American character uses Italian slang and only some of the Italian characters use any Italian and then only rarely. They sound like they are from Chicago.

The characters are complex, sympathetic, quirky and funny. Several of them have unexpected depth.

With just a little push, the author could become a really great talent. She doesn't have to give up the romance or chick-lit genre, she just needs to make her plot more plausible and realistic. Her characters are ready for it.

I enjoyed the narrator as well.

Great book

Just the audible version had background static. It was distracting. Great series in all. Loved it.

It was Okay

This book was not as great as the first one for me. I loved the writer's style and the characters. I am all about a strong female character. But I wasn't a fan of how long it took Maggie to surrender to love. As many great things that Micheal accomplished and how many times he jumped through hoops - she still was in her head. It was really hard to swoon when she always shot it down - immediately. It was a constant "rain on my parade" book.

We were literally down to the last 2 minutes before she understood that someone could love her and then the book ended. Thank goodness for then 2 minute epilogue which was more of a prelude to the next book. I would have loved to have more swoon worthy parts - but it was an okay book nonetheless.
