Too fast!

What did you love best about The Mane Event?

Love this series and loved this book and story. The speed of the audiobook was a real problem as it was way too fast and really degraded the performance - and enjoyment - in the story. I hope the powers that be do a much better job with the subsequent books.

Worth the credit!

I loved this book! It's actually two novellas in one book but it starts off the series. It was funny and had plenty of sexy bits too! I would recommend to anyone wanting to try a new series.

Wow! Two Captivating Stories!

I landed another shifter series to listen too! The characters were great, and I loved the steamy sex scenes. Both plots moved at a steady pace, and included some action and humor. I liked how the "cats" and "dogs" came together. :-)

Charlotte Kane did a great job narrating this story. I saw there were several comments about the narration speed being too fast. I didn't think it was too fast, but I've been know to adjust the narrator speeds to 1.25 sometimes so this story at 1.x was good for me.

I'm definitely looking forward to listening to the other stories in the series!

I had no idea this book would be so dirty. It's not at all romantic. I don't read books without sex in them but when the author uses words like dick and pu$$y during sex that's enough for me. I know a lot of you like that kind of talk but I don't happen to be one of them. Sorry..

As to the narrator: For as much as I listened to she did a fine job.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Maybe, believe it or not to much sex! Storyline suffered greatly. She is a good writerbut readers want a great story with developed characters with a little sex thrown in whenit applies to the story, Not the other way around a little story thrown in around the sex.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

awful voice...pace Ok, but she turned her voice up at the end of each sentence. Other reviewer said it all. I would not listen to this reader AKA J Parker.

part 1 and 2 were a great read. I wanted to listen as I find I get more out of the story. It was a shame this reader was chosen. So many of the older great books are read by bad readers. They can just ruin the experience. A good story can not make up for a bad reader.

funny, fast paced and smoking hot

What made the experience of listening to The Mane Event the most enjoyable?

Charlotte Kane really helps bring the characters to life. She reads with a natural enthusiasm, without being over dramatic. Her voice range is wonderful.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Mane Event?

I hate giving away spoilers so what I liked most about this book was the chemistry between the hero and heroin. Also I found myself laughing out loud more than once and almost blushing at at some sense.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene in the restaurant after the heroin runs into her old crush.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh for sure, but it also had real, and sweet moments.

I have listened and read this series, I loved reading them so much that I bought them here too. It had been awhile since I had read them, and listening to them was even better thanks to the narrator.

Just Awesome

I have read this book before period it has always been a great read. But listening to the narrator has made it even so much better. The way she portrayed each of the characters was just awesome. I especially love her country accent. Sissy Mae has to be my favorite character. She is a true instigator. I can't wait to read the next book.

A little shallow

I found the story entertaining but the depth of the characters were shallow. Not enough excitement and u could remove the fact that they were shifters and it wouldn’t chance the story.
