Publisher's Summary

Humor and heat collide in this sizzling audio-first romance by New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Anne Marsh!

Being a firefighter means I work hard and can go all night. But hey, I've got plenty of fires to put out in my downtime, too. Fortunately I've got just the tool to do it. Size matters, ladies. I've got a big one...and I would have been happy to show you before a sassy, sexy brunette crash-landed in my life.

Lola is quirky; she's talented; she's unbelievably gorgeous; and she's getting over the world's worst breakup. I've got two words for you: off limits.

So even if her smoking-hot body drives me nuts, I'll keep my tool to myself. We're friends - not lovers. I've got her back, even if what I really want to have is her front. Her mouth. Every delicious, curvy inch of her.

And then one hot, dirty night in the bed of my truck, she makes it clear that she's on fire for me. After stoking the flames and achieving a blowup of nuclear proportions, I know I'm in big trouble. Once isn't enough. Now my need for her is a four-alarm blaze...and I'm beginning to think I don't ever want it to burn out.

Light Fun entertainment 👏

Lola, hosts a summer break 💔 up camp that meets at a motel in the mountains. A therapeutic support club with 8 steps to cleanse their hearts of the jerks that broke them. The club is made up of all women who've sworn off men while healing. When Lola and her female companions start an illegal fire at 5:30 in the morning to burn mementoes from their bad break up's.. she meets a hunky big bear 🐻 rogue fire fighter named Hunter. Unfortunately For Hunter these sassy ladies don't appreciate his help in putting out their fire.

When Hunter turns sympathetic to the reason for the burn party, he ignites the memorabilia and requests to be the only male member of the club. Eventually a hesitant Lola cave's and allows his request when she learns he's jilted to. The insta lust kicks up when these characters start spending time together. Lola's "sexual innuendo" flirting has Hunter squirming in his pants. A friendship develope's and the chemistry is so intense they find it hard to be together and maintain self control.

Though, the couple did have a few speed bumps this listen did remain fairly drama free. A feel good easy ROM COM with plenty of heat and humor made this a lot of fun to listen to.
The top notch narration definitely made this experience more entertaining as well. Jacob and Rose are a favorite duo of mine. You never get anything less than perfection with this pair. I'm happy with my decision to part with a credit!! 😊

Excellent Narrators!

3.5 It was a good book. Would have been improved if Lola was a little more mature. Overall, though, it was good. Made much better by listening, I'm sure. Jacob Morgan and Rose Dioro are excellent (5 stars for both!). Spoiler below.

Spoiler Alert: Lola's big proposal scene and consequent running away because Hunter didn't react properly was the biggest issue for me. I could overlook her other drama until this part.

Loved it!

What did you love best about The Big One?

I loved the characters Anne Marsh creates. They are vivid and individual. The read is fun and fast, not to mention feisty and fresh. She was able to deliver an Alpha male that was not an AlphaHole. The love story built and grew as the characters became more and more self-aware of themselves and their true personal needs and desires. I loved it!

What about Rose Dioro and Jacob Morgan ’s performance did you like?

The narrators were able to capture the characters voices and make them come to life.

Wow..just wow..

I just want to start by sayin something positive first about the narrators; they nailed it. Their performance was great, not at all bad. Now the negative; Lola is so effin’ annoy! Jesus! I’ve never listened or read a story where the female lead was so annoying I wished they existed so that I can b*tch slap them for being so annoying! All up in the male lead’s business! No one and I mean no one wants an annoying, needy ass partner! Male or female! Lola gives females who have been there and done that a very bad name. It was like listening to a whinny 16 yr old! Ugh! Sorry, I’ve never gave such a bad review before. The Story was nice, the narrators where great but shoot, I disliked that the author made the female lead so annoying! Save your credit.

Smiled through so much of the book!

This was an intended break from the dark and drama filled stories I have been reading lately. It was the perfect light-hearted and funny, oh so funny read!! I will probably listen to it again in the future, that is a rarity.

This is my introduction to Anne Marsh, and I will definitely continue the series. Jacob Morgan (aka Zachary Webber) and Rose Dioro fit the characters and did amazing.

It is part of the romance package, but also worth a credit or the price.

Happiness in a book

This is a fun, funny, frothy, utterly lovely romantic comedy. It is actually funny with just the right touch of pathos to pull the listener in. The male narrator does a wonderful job of voicing a character who is taciturn and controlled, all the while hoping for more than just a friend. The female narrator gently controls and refines a character that could all too easily have been read as an over the top loudmouth. The character voices complement one another beautifully,

I don't read much contemporary romance, but this was a charming story that I read in one sitting. It appears to be the first in a series of stories about a group of firefighters in the Northern California wilderness near Big Bear Lake, and I'm looking forward to the future offerings in this series. I'm not familiar with this author, either, so I'll be checking out the rest of her catalog as soon as I'm finished writing this review.

If you're looking for a fun CR, with excellent narration and an H&h you can fall in love with...here you go!

Complication vs. Simple

Hunter wants simple, no more drama, no more cheating. He is fine with one word answers until he meet Lola who is chatty, boisterous, full of life, clutter and complications. But he can't stay away. A wild ride for this couple that is never boring. Characters are great, story draws you in and the narrator's bring the characters to life.
