Publisher's summary

Prepare to laugh, cry, and fall in love with this enthralling new romance from J. Bengtsson - available in audio first!

When a letter from his supposedly deceased mother finds its way into his hands, life changes in an instant for international pop star Bodhi Beckett.

Reeling from the deception of those closest to him, Bodhi spirals out of control and is sent to a secluded mansion in the coastal mountains of Southern California for some rest and relaxation. But the retreat proves to be anything but relaxing when a raging wildfire sets the landscape around him ablaze.

While escaping the flames, Bodhi rescues Breeze, a quirky, pet-loving woman, and together the two fight their way to safety. In the aftermath of the fire, Bodhi and Breeze hit the road to uncover the truth about his family. What neither of them expected is to forge a powerful connection that will change their lives forever...but can it survive the real world, or will it disappear like the wind?

Editor's Pick

A love story amidst an all-too-current fiery landscape
"Having the seeds of love bloom during a California wildfire seems a counter intuitive beginning for a romance. I was, in fact, holding my breath over the stress of listening to two characters trapped in a life-threatening fire rather than holding my breath in anticipation for their potential meet-cute. No, it was not a meet-cute. But while their relationship was born in fire, it flourished in the quiet moments that came later. Through the performances of narrators Callie Dalton and Zachary Webber, the chemistry that draws Bodhi and Breeze together is undeniable—it’s especially cute to hear them laugh together. From an author who has a history of crafting lovable characters, this came as no surprise, and it was, in the end, an entirely uplifting story."

Ahhh-amazing

This was my first audible book. I had to give it a try because I love everything J Bengtsson writes and Like The Wind was no different. I fell in love with Bohdi and Breeze and absolutely enjoyed there adventure. I was laughing like a loon in the grocery store as I listened to this story, but I just couldn’t help myself.

This was a fun, fast read with lots of real emotion and depth and I would definitely recommend it! You won’t regret it at all...

Amazing.

This story had me pulled in from the beginning. Breeze had me cracking up and Brohdy is such an amazing guy. i swooned over him. J Bengtsson did an amazing job with their story. just wish there was an epilogue. need to know what happened next.

Not Every Book is for Everyone. :(

It had so much potential. :(

I really enjoyed the beginning of the book, how it starts not know the characters and when they are in the thick of it. I even enjoyed them separately getting to know them.

When it starts to go downhill for me is after the first hanky panky which seemed fast from the time they meet but whateves, but like about a day of them being together she is already falling in love, I just didn’t buy it. I didn’t feel the chemistry. Sex is not chemistry.

Let’s move on, she had/has this amazing best friend we learn about and then she goes through this horrific experience and she doesn’t call or talk to him for days after?!??!?
All seems fine, then we find out a negative attached to him, that just didn’t need to be in the story in my opinion.  I liked Mason.

I get we needed some conflict, but maybe because I have never had anything but loving parents I just don’t get the sob story about both of them and parent drama, she had a freaking fantastic mom and her stepdad is pretty amazing. She even talks to her dad granted he is self-absorbed but she still had a loving mom who tries to be both.
As for him ok I can see where he would have more parental issues his dad is his manager and his mom is not in the picture. But the way he chooses to freak out is childish even for his age and who he is. I don’t know I just didn’t get it.

I guess I just felt like there were too many negatives toward each character, not enough emphasis on the positives, like this amazing life he has, and her amazing parents/job/ and friends??
Even the old fella who proposes to her was made to seem negative I just don’t understand.

And then the moment the author makes them break up…. I won’t get started on that. I just think it was pointless, selfish and didn’t make any sense in a book with a rock star…

The narration was AWESOME, and it really is why I kept listening. <3

Best book ever!!!

Stop reading these reviews and listen to this book... NOW !! No joke!! You will not regret it. The combo of narration, author and story line all comes together to be the most beautiful thing I've listened too in a very long time. I listened to 200+ books last year and this book stands out amongst them all! I am not a professional book reviewer lol so I don't know how to properly express all the fine points of 'like the wind' but what I can say is this book had me laughing out loud (which I never do), crying real tears while my heart was simultaneously squeezing itself to death, at the edge of my seat one minute and the fanning myself the next 💖 please oh please J. Bengtsson give us MORE!!!!!

I have given 5 stars one other time

I have seen the "Cake" book but never read it so this was my first time with this author. The story was just a joy from beginning to end. The humor, the likable characters, the passion ( not tons of it, it was dabbled in) and the real life that was handled well was just entertaining and uplifting. I loved the way Bodhi talked with the animals, it had me chuckling and smirking all the time. He was such an awesome character that at first I thought I wouldn't like because he seemed so immature, but I got over that fast. Who couldn't like Breeze? She was cute, funny, likable, reasonable, they were great together. I have to speak to the narrators who were just awesome. The both brought the humor, the concern and the love..This was a 5 star experience on both accounts and I am off to download Cake, the book that for some reason I passed by several times, what was I thinking!?

LOVED THIS STORY!

The main characters come together under the worst of circumstances. They start a journey that brings them closer to each other.

They come from two completely different backgrounds, but as they open up to each other their friendship grows, becoming more, and more. There is personal growth, and the development (along with their realization) of true love.

The narrators were great!

A beautiful story that I would recommend.

THE HOURS JUST FLEW BY.. like the wind

I’ve loved all of JB’s other books and, at the end of every one I say “this is my favorite”.. but I truly think this might actually be at the very top of the ever-growing list of keepers. Because Bodhi and Breeze’s journey to their HEA was so entertaining with its heady cocktail of loveable witty quirky characters, chemistry, humor, great banter, a wee bit of angst, emotional family secrets and the plot wasn’t drowned out by descriptive sex scenes. This supremely talented author managed to make first meetings, while fleeing an out of control bush fire, both frightening and funny at the same time with a Rockstar, a house-sitter, a cat, two very different dogs, rats and a goldfish added to the crazy car ride from Hell.. and that folks takes some seriously impressive writing skills to balance so perfectly.

Worth a credit? This dual POV lol story, with its well chosen narrators, would of course been worth a credit.. but look they’re giving it away in the Audible Escape Package.. so win win, ding ding and endless emoji smiles from this happy contented listener.

💞LOVED IT💞

💑 Excellent story 💑
It could have been based on a true story. Filled with a lot of emotions... happy sad and romantic.♡♡

Its sad how just this last year, this really happened to so many people, and so many people lost their lives too.😢

This story was delivered excellently by the 2 narrator's... Callie Dalton and that SEXY Zachary Webber voice!💘 yumm

The only thing I didn't like was, not enough hot and steamy sexy scenes between them. 👎☹

Engaging story with likable characters

I really liked this one! The characters were likable and their motivations believable. I found myself really wanting them to meet, then wanting them to stay together. I hate it when conflict is created by secrets and insecurities. There was none of that here. A great listen!
