Publisher's summary

From USA Today Bestselling author Brynne Asher…

An arranged marriage, forced-proximity, thrilling romantic suspense.

I’m nothing but a payment, bartered to the most powerful cartel in the northern hemisphere and forced to marry a man I do not know.

My father sold me to save his own skin. He might as well have ushered me to the gates of hell.

The Marino family is sadistic. If rumors are true, they’ll own me, use me, control me, and strip me of every freedom I’ve taken for granted. I’ll be a shiny new toy in a dark and deadly underworld.

So when my husband drops the bomb that our arranged marriage is only a means to an end, I realize there’s something worse than merely being a possession.

My stupid, stupid heart.

In the end, the last thing I expected to do was fall in love.

Gripping love story

Possession by Brynne Asher is a riveting blend of arranged marriage, mafia intrigue, forced proximity, and slow-burn romantic suspense, brimming with unforeseen twists and turns. The story kept a gripping pace from the first chapter, which held me "captive" throughout.

Landyn, whose very existence becomes the currency to settle her father's debt with a ruthless drug cartel, the disbelief of being thrust into marriage for the sake of familial obligation leaves her reeling. Amidst a chaotic shootout and a hasty wedding ceremony, Landyn, though shaken, is determined to maintain her dignity and stay resilient. Brax, anticipating a demure bride, is surprised to discover Landyn's fiery spirit. Far from being submissive, she defies the expectations that surround her.

Brax and Landyn embark on a journey into the complexities of their forced union. Each revelation about the other adds layers to the story, showcasing Landyn's spirited demeanor as a beacon of strength. Brax, hell-bent on seeking justice for the shootout, rules the cartel with an iron fist, fiercely protective of his newfound bride and quick to assert his claim.

Narrated by the talented Jason Clark and Rose Dioro, the characters of Brax and Landyn come to life. Jason Clark brings Brax's uber-alpha magnetism to life, his voice delivering the character's commanding presence with a magnetic allure. The sheer pleasure of hearing him utter the possessive phrase "my wife" is delightful. Rose Dioro, on the other hand, is phenomenal in portraying Landyn's progression from a shocked daughter to a formidable mafia wife and beyond.

Amazing!!

I was wonderfully surprised by this book. I just loved Brax and Landyn. It was an emotional rollercoaster for me, but I enjoyed every minute. Jason and Rose were excellent, as always. I love listening to them.

Really good!

I liked this one a ton! It starts with a bang (literally!) and gets more exciting with every chapter. The writing is great and so is the storyline. The characters are fantastic and so is the dialogue. The narrators do a wonder job as well!

It’s a crime not to love this

Brynne writes such an amazing gripping storyline with amazing character development. Once I started I didn’t want to stop and the story flowed with such ease and intrigue. Boz/Brian/Brax is such a great character. When Brynne writes her MMC’s she is able to create a powerful, protective, swoon worth male. The angst and passionate build up between Brax and Landon was perfect. Brax slowly let his control fade, unable to resist his feelings for Landon. Even with so many characters in never felt lost with what was going on or who was dealing with what. I was anxious up to the couple hours of this book even though I knew it was an HEA. The connection to the characters in her other series The Killers was phenomenal but you aren’t lost on who they are, you just get a more defined feeling of family and friends within this high intensity job. The dual narration was perfect. Jason and Rose do such an amazing job voicing the opposite gender. Their emotions really grab you as you listen and bring you in the story. I can’t wait for more of this series!

Looking for the next book!

Mafia books aren't usually my thing but this one was a pleasant surprise. Looking forward to the next book. I loved reading and listening to this one, Disappointed that it doesn't look like the 2nd book is on audible yet. Looks like it will be reading only on the next one.

Loved it

This is a book I will listen to again. A strong male character is something I look for in a book. I like how his emotions are expressed in the dialogue. The female character finds her strength as the story line plays out. The subject matter is on the dark said at times but for the most part that isn’t described in detail except at the first of the book. I will be looking for more books by this author.
