Publisher's summary

This audiobook is a steamy contemporary romance audiobook.

Sinclair Jeffries thought she knew what she was getting into when her zany, gay friend, Jesse Eddington, talked her into portraying his girlfriend during his parent's anniversary party on Huntington Beach. That is, until she met Reed, Jesse's sexy as hell older brother, and ends up getting much more than what she'd bargained for.

Reed Eddington assumed his future was settled until he met Sinclair, his brother's so-called "girlfriend," but the raw, sexual tension between them is hard to ignore. As he watches their ruse from the sidelines, he finds himself wanting to uncover more than just their amusing little facade.

Narrator

OMG, the male narrator was HORRIBLE. He studdered over his reading. Some parts he jumped over and messed up the listen. Hopefully this was his first had last read. The other narrator was ok.

Edit and release again please

What did you like best about Tangled Beauty? What did you like least?

I think that the story was there and I really would have enjoyed it more if they had stuck to one narrator and actually edited the narration. It is really distracting when the narrator rereads a sentence because the messed it up the first time around. Call me crazy but that is when you do a retake. Over all I feel that this was a really low budget audio book. I hope that it gets release again with different narration and EDITING.

Ugh! Frustrating!

What did you like best about Tangled Beauty? What did you like least?

The performance wasn't very good. It repeated lines SEVERAL times! Disjointed at times. ...The ending was predictable, and didn't tie into the overall story. Disappointed that I purchased this audiobook.

What could K.L. Middleton have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Make the villain connection earlier and more cleare....more of a back story.

How could the performance have been better?

EVERYTHING. It was a stilted and halting performance. Appeared as if it was a practice run.

Was Tangled Beauty worth the listening time?

No not really.

Some of the worst narration I’ve heard

Really, really terrible acting. The story itself isn’t great either but the narration turned a bad story worse...

Worst narrators ever!

What did you like best about Tangled Beauty? What did you like least?

The story line was okay

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

It's a classic tale of rich guy and hard working woman. Fun yet predictable.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Very much so. I'm completely shocked this was sold on Audible. Wrong words, made up words, repeating of lines when they miss read them the first time. No editing and not professional at all. The female editor was slightly better than the male. I kept expecting them to improve but it just seemed to get worse as the book progressed. If there's a worst narration award this book would win hands down.

Could you see Tangled Beauty being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No.

Any additional comments?

Please re record with new narrators.

struggling with narrator

terrible narrators. Both narrators sound like a teen baby sitters reading to kids.

I will have to finish the book on kindle.

I AM SO SORRY

What made the experience of listening to Tangled Beauty the most enjoyable?

I am the narrator! Let me be honest, this sucks! The book.. AMAZING, my narrating.. BOOOOOOOOOO I was brand new at doing audio books, and taking advice how to do them from someone I didn't know, and now know they have no right giving advice. but I am not shifting blame. Kristen worked so hard on this book, and I don't like her getting bad ratings because I messed up. I am re doing it, and I beg all of you, give it one more chance.. you wont' be disappointed.

What did you like best about this story?

The way Kristen wrote it, she's an amazing talented author!

Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Meadows’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

They get better with time. I've invested allot of time and money into my home studio. When I started, I was doing it for fun, and some extra cash, now I have decided to make it my career. Every book, no matter how big or small is very important to me!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I loved reading it, there were moments I burst out laughing, and some i had to stop because I choked up.

Any additional comments?

Again, I apologize, I didn't know anything about ratings when I did this, but one more chance, everyone deserves 2 chances, right? :) :)

Worst, "narrators" I've ever heard, ever!!!!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, as long as they read it and do not listen to it on audiobook! It is a very cute love story with some hot m/f sex scenes!

What did you like best about this story?

This is a charming story yet also contains hot sex!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

When I purchase an audiobook, I expect something special. If I wanted a computerized, monotone, flat voice, I'd use a text to speech app and buy the e-book for a lot less money. I was extremely disappointed and irritated that the narrators were so absolutely horrific. I lost count of how many words the female narrator miss pronounced but there were at least 20! The first mispronunciation was, "Dolce and Gabbana", an Italian designer/brand which not everyone knows how to pronounce so I thought nothing of it. However, that was not the last mispronunciation. Narrators should not have a problem pronouncing words like, "quaint" (it was pronounced, "quant") and,"faux" which was pronounced,"faw"! This is just 2 examples of the more difficult words she could not pronounce (there were other words that were much easier that she messed up too)! I think my favorite mispronunciation was when the female narrator said, "She raised her chin definitely" instead of, "defiantly"! The male narrator was not perfect at pronouncing either yet he did not make anywhere near as many mistakes as his female counterpart did.

Aside from being unable to pronounce common words of the English language, both of the narrators spoke in choppy sentences. Both narrators would say 2 or 3 words then took abnormally long pauses before completing the sentence. For example, "I could feel. The urge. To turn and..." and, "Who cares if. His fiancé. Is a royal…". The female narrator did attempt to change her voice for some of the characters yet she was not consistent with doing so and only adjusted her voice slightly. For example, she used the same accent/tone of voice when reading for a French Woman that she used for an older American male. The male narrator made no adjustments to his voice at all! Not only did he not try to speak with a different tone of voice when reading as a female character but he had absolutely no emotion at all! He had a sexy voice with so much potential yet he spoke in a flat, monotone, automated sounding voice. He seemed uninterested, as if he was just reading something out loud without thinking at all about what he was reading. The female narrator tried to express emotions and pauses appropriately yet she too did not do that correctly. For example, she sounded angry once while reading a scene where the character was not at all angry!?

Obviously this audiobook was not edited because if it had, all of these mispronunciations would have been caught & the male narrator would not have read the same sentence twice like he did at two different times. Now I know why this book was just $1.99! I feel terribly for the author because this is a horrible representation of what was actually a very cute story. Unfortunately though, the narrators atrociousness was quite distracting. Anyone could marry a book better than these two!

Was Tangled Beauty worth the listening time?

NO!!!! In fact, I may ask audible for a refund, not because the story was bad but because the narrators were atrocious!

Any additional comments?

I feel horrible for Ms. Middleton that the success of this book will most certainly be impacted by these, "narrators".

The quality control on the narration of this audio

The quality control on the narration of this audiobook was entirely missing. I read the other bad reviews about the audio and thought, it can't be that bad. But it was pretty bad. What it sounded like was a recording of the very first rough draft read-through of the book. A lot of the problems should have been edited out because the narrators actually backed up a little and started re-reading a sentence that they'd messed up. On several occasions. But worst was the female narrator reading along in short bursts. Several words, pause. Several more words, pause. She did it much more at the beginning of the book and it did improve as the book progressed. Their voices weren't bad but I'm hoping their narrating skills improve with time/experience.

If it was this audio or no audio at all, I would prefer to have this. These days, if the book isn't put out as an audiobook, I'm not going to read it.
