Publisher's Summary

Control. Precision. Family. These are the principles that drive Silver Mercant. At a time when the fledgling Trinity Accord seeks to unite a divided world, with Silver playing a crucial role as director of a worldwide emergency response network, wildness and chaos are the last things she needs in her life. But that's exactly what Valentin Nikolaev, alpha of the StoneWater Bears, brings with him.

Valentin has never met a more fascinating woman. Though Silver is ruled by Silence - her mind clear of all emotion - Valentin senses a whisper of fire around her. That's what keeps him climbing apartment buildings to be near her. But when a shadow assassin almost succeeds in poisoning Silver, the stakes become deadly serious...and Silver finds herself in the heart of a powerful bear clan. Her would-be assassin has no idea what their poison has unleashed.

Amazing, moving

Just wonderful and as fine a book as any she has written. Great world building, fully developed characters. Continues the full worldwide story while starting in a new location. I am so pleased at the quality, intrigue and love story that is moving, not just an add on filler.

Why only 3 stars you ask?

I adore the Psy Changling world. Mrs. Singh is freaking brilliant, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed with this newest release. The romance was wonderful, the characters flawless, but for the first time the big dramatic "thing" had no purpose. Sasha wasn't breaking free, no one was cutting the psy net away, no forseers predicting doomsday, no arm issues, not even Caleb inside the middle of a fire. The big "thing" served no purpose other than to cause *gulp* manufactured drama for the sake of some more pages.

Maybe Mrs Singh has just spoiled me with her wonderful stories of psy and guild hunters, maybe I expected too much. It's still a wonderful series with spectacular worlds and characters, but this time, I was let down. Silver got mated and somehow that was 16 hours worth???

Loved it!!

Just a good story of how love can overcome silence. There were so many facets of this story that made it so very good.

Trinity Triumph!

Nalini brings again with a strong beginning to a new era in the Psy/Changeling world. although I was prepared to be disappointed in bears as a changeling species, I was happily proven quite wrong and find myself wishing I could meet one. She keeps the story rolling as you fall in love with the characters. I'm impatient for the next book!

Love Nalini Singh no matter what book she writes!

I absolutely loved this book! Silver was such an amazing character. I loved how her mate had to make Silver fall in love with him all over again. Nalini is an amazing writer, and I would recommend ANY of her books to anyone.

Silver Silence Just okay

Have not listened to all of this series, but this follows closely to the others I listened to.
Love the bears, Valentin Nikolaev, wonderful. Love how they toss the cubs, Alpha plays big part in all their lives.

Silver, to me, was not very likable. Love the changelings, Psy- not so much.

Listened to entire book, so I didn't hate it, didn't love it. Just liked it okay.

Awesome Narration

I read this book when it first came out and loved it but I actually think I love it more with Angela Dawe’s performance. She really brought Silver and Valentin’s story to life for me. I highly recommend this Audio Book!!!

Bears!

I adore the Psy/Changeling world, but one thing I've always missed is humor. The story arc is a bit too dark for more than the occasional chuckle. This story made up for that lack in spades.

Valentin is wonderfully written. Charming, mischievous, curious, and funny, he has just enough sadness and savagery to give real depth to his character. His family will keep you smiling, and the glimpses of clan life are at times downright hilarious. The frequent, frustrated refrain of "Bears!" weaves a ribbon of levity throughout, balancing the drama and keeping the story from sinking too far in darkness.

Silver's development surprised me a little, but I love how she turned out.

Angela Dawe has never been my favorite narrator but her work here is the best I've heard from her. The accents and voices were perfect, and her delivery shifted seamlessly between high-emotion drama and dry humor.

Nalini Singh calls this book the start of Season 2 of the Psy/Changeling world. I think that is a perfect way to present it. If you've never entered the world before, this book provides enough detail to bring you in fully. For those who've been in since the first book, old characters return and new ones bring in a fresh new element.

Loved it!

Bears! This was the first male character I haven’t mooned about but still rooted for him from start to finish. Such exquisite mix of tenacity, brutish strength, gentleness and devotion. I really, really loved this bear. And this love story. And the story in general. We haven’t moved much in overall story but it was kinda welcomed respite. At least for me.

Good, but not my favorite of the Psy/Changeling

I really like Nalini Singh. However, this wasn't my favorite of her books. Nothing specific, but I just didn't feel the heat between the 2 main characters as much as I usually do. I'm not even sure why. The overall story is pretty good and Angela Dawe is excellent, as usual.
