Molly was no stranger to life's little detours. After the last upheaval, she left her family's law firm to become a maintenance technician on the space station Bradbury 12. When an accident knocks her off her feet, she's going to have to draw on all her resilience to get back up. First, though, she's going to have to figure out how to talk to the big, blue alien trying to help her.
There wasn't supposed to be a space station where Mintonar's ship emerged from the galactic bridge. As far as they knew, there wasn't supposed to be intelligent life on the planet, either. Proof of how wrong they were is laying in his medical bay, and it's his job to save her. When he touches her, his life turns upside down and his mission suddenly includes figuring out why everything inside him insists she's his mate. And convincing her of the same thing, especially when they don't even speak the same language.
Contains mature themes.

As for the narrator, Rebecca Estrella 🌟 I just had to look her up again. Great voice actor! Or actress. Since by the time I wrote this I could have sworn it was dual voiced. Emotions and circumstances were done in a way that had you laughing and even worrying. Full emotions that came through.
I had listened to audible through membership. Ended up buying the kindle edition. And as soon as I’m done here, ready to get Audible and next books. I MUST know about the other characters!! 🤩
Loved it!!! 🥰

Some things were... odd. First, the writing is in a very passive voice. Second, when does this take place? Why would intergalactic travellers 'accidentally' hit a space station? Why was the heroine's (Molly) backstory so odd? Was it just because her ILs were rich and idiosyncratic, or is earth undergoing some kind of fertility problem? And, besides fear for his fledgling relationship, why was the hero (Mintonar) so hostile toward the heroine's relationship with her son? It seemed a bit ott. Anyway, maybe these issues will resolve in future books. I'll move on to book 2.
Pretty good, even with all the tangents

Mintonar is acting doctor on the space exploration ship Forward Hope. He uses all his skills and resources to save the woman thrown into space after being injured during a collision with the space station Bradbury 12. Their previous charts and logs lead them to expect the space and planet to be empty. Instead of terraforming a new colony, Mintonar bonds with Molly with surprising results.
The primary off note is the disconnect of Molly going from attorney to mechanic on a space station which doesn’t get explained until near the end of the story. Secondary is the loving relationship between Molly and her son Aidan which is lovely until you hear Molly’s backstory and wonder how they were able to connect at all.
Estrella’s narration is ok. I forgot about her as the story progressed.
interesting

The MMC is very stiff and awkward, though, as well as being purposefully manipulative, and she just... doesn't react the way any woman I've ever met would. Some odd bits appear here and there that just seem odd or out of place, and there is a distinct lack of descriptions throughout the story. While I love using my imagination, the author does need to spark the imagination to begin with. Sadly, there's just not enough there to thoroughly picture things.
In spite of all that, the plot is intriguing, the environment and background are substantial enough to get a fairly good picture of the universe the author has created here.
Interesting and entertaining

The background story is interesting and the spicy scenes are intense. That said, I don't understand the relationship at all. The male lead lies to the female lead the *entire* time. She periodically catches him and gets mad and/or breaks down in tears. Then, he doesn't apologize or acknowledge his wrong doings. But she still gets over it immediately every single time. I often enjoy problematic, possessive male leads but Mintonar doesn't seem to care about Molly's feelings at all. I also can't understand how she just keeps letting everything slide with out ever trying to hold him accountable. I know some people are pushovers but this just read very unnatural.
I am still somewhat interested in the story so I might listen to the next book to see if that couple is any better.
Male lead lies, female lead forgives instantly
