Publisher's Summary

Carter Hastings was only supposed to be a fling.

A summer of fun, excitement, pleasure.

And it was...everything.

It's hard to walk away.

To leave the one man who resuscitates me.

But I did.

He didn't reciprocate my feelings.

He didn't love me.

Not now.

Not ever.

I enjoyed listening to Resuscitate Me so much that I actually finished it in one day! The duet narration is seemless and Tor Thom and Charley Ongel were AMAZING narrators.

    "Amazing Story!"

I had never heard of Leddy Harper. I know, I should have, but as far as I can tell, this is her first audio release. What a way to be introduced! This is one of those books that you just want to leave your earbuds on and see what is going to happen. Carter, a professional model and gym owner is the stubborn, alpha male. Kara is helping her sister-in-law out for the summer and meets Carter at his gym. And the sparks are flying. These two together are combustible. Not only does the couple have chemistry, but the story line is well developed and believable. Carter is afraid to love, but with Kara's love and confidence they are able to work through the worst of times. You will also love the support characters, especially Kara's mom, and little Logan. At times they steal the show.

Narrating team Charley Ongel and Tor Thom perform the duet narration of this female POV story. Charley emotes the entire story so well that you feel the angst and happiness that Kara is going through. Tor Thom as always gives an incredible alpha male narration, giving Carter not only his domineering personality, but tenderness and caring. Listening to this book is a pleasure.

Would you consider the audio edition of Resuscitate Me to be better than the print version?

I loved(!) the book. The audio is wonderful. The narrators brought the story to life. The emotion, passion, loss. All of it!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Resuscitate Me?

The exchanges in the hospital. Intense.

What does Charley Ongel and Tor Thom bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This two have magical chemistry and must record together. The tension comes through.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Had to break it into two sittings.

    Any additional comments?

Tor Thom's interpretation of Carter is simply delicious. I have a new audiobook boyfriend. Shhh.... ;) Smilin' and smilin'. :)

"STRONG ALPHA ROMANCE, WITH GOOD FLOW & WRITING"
    Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. Thank you Tor!

A first from this author. The book is well thought out and the character narratives are pretty believable. In the beginning, it's the conversations from the narratives that are trivial and well, not always real. But as they begin to know one another, their interactions are more to the norm. Carter is very Alpha and controlling. It's explained as his being "just like his father," ex-military and a cop... but still, a very good man. Kara is independent but finds herself in a situation that causes her to rely on others more than she likes. That gives her the extra shove she needs to risk it all for Carter. All in all, an easily enjoyed storyline with a few cliches, some steamy sex, and "wait-for-it" soft romance.

Please note that Tor is the male vocal, not the female as some reviewers believe. LOL. His gravely voice is always a good alpha-role choice. He doesn't disappoint. Charley reads for Kara beautifully, with perfect inflection. Her secondary characters, in an attempt to differentiate them from Kara, are a bit over-the-top with pitch.
The two narrators make a perfect duo. I prefer books that alternate chapters with POV where they are read by male and female e characters. This book is read by Charley and Tor speaks when it's Carter's narrative.

TWO THUMBS UP!
"Loved this story from beginning to end."

Kara and Carter have a romance that is fast. And as all fast romances, it has it's troubles. Both Kara and Carter are haunted by their past relationships. Yet, it is tested by an accident and grows stronger. I found myself cheering for Kara and Carter at times and crying along with them at other times. This was a fun story to listen to.

The narrators where amazing. Charley Ongel and Tor Thom are a perfect pair. Their voices are easy to listen to. Ms. Ongel has a sweet voice that is Perfect for Kara. Ms. Ongel truly understood Kara and portrayed her flawlessly. Ms. Ongel has a way of making a sweaty gym just sound sexy. Tor Thom has such a deep voice that you just crave to hear more of. He is a perfect Carter. Mr. Thom's voice commands attention as Carter did. Mr. Thom narrated Carter perfectly through all his ups and downs. He made Carter sound dreamy and was a per f ext contrast to Ms. Ongel.

    "Kinda Frustrating For Me"

Kara spent the summer helping care for her nephew before heading back to school as a teacher in the fall. When she meets Carter Hastings at the gym sparks fly. Neither one is looking for a relationship, after all, Kara’s only there for the summer. Let the summer fling begin!

For me, this audiobook was an exercise in frustration. Kara starts off wearing her heart on her sleeve but when she agrees to a no strings relationship with Carter she becomes the exact opposite. She starts acting cold and expecting Carter to confess undying love all the while she can’t be honest about her growing feelings either, pot meet kettle. Just about the time I’m ready to throw in the towel someone will read Kara the riot act about her behavior and Kara will come to her senses. Thank goodness because it saved me from tossing this audiobook into the did not finish pile.

I enjoy author Leddy Harper’s style of writing and even though the content of this book wasn’t to my particular liking, I will see what she’s up to next and she certainly knows how to pick an awesome cover!

Resuscitate Me is a duet narration by Charley Ongel and Tor Thom. This duet team is one of the few that I enjoy listening to. Both narrators are good at conveying emotion and have excellent pacing, but even the strength of their narration can’t quite push this book out of the 3-star category.

This audiobook was received in exchange for an unbiased review!

    "3.5 Resuscitate Me Stars"

    Cater & Kara

I found Carter to be sweet, caring and an all-round good guy, though I wasn't a fan of his short temper.

Kara was also sweet, and her willingness to put everyone else first is admirable but I felt like she did it because she lacks some confidence. She seemed to always second guess herself.

I really liked the meeting between these two, and how their relationship grew from lust, to more than lust to friends then to lovers.

Of course there were circumstances that brings a little drama but I found that the most dramatic parts of the book were from Kara. I think because of the lack of confidence in herself she was a little dramatic at times when an easy conversation would have cleared up a lot of things.
Add in Carter's short temper and this book is anything but boring. ;)

I very much liked the way Carter was when he was with Kara’s nephew. That just melts a girl’s heart.
I loved the ending. I think the story took us on a ride and we just had to go with it.

The narration, Tor’s voice is like warm syrup all yummy and gravely it’s perfect for Carter. And though I sometime have a hit or a miss with the female narrators I have to say I really enjoyed Charley’s female voices. She made Kara, Kara for me.

This was a first by Leddy Harper for me, and I can say I would totally listen to more of audiobooks by this author.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

    "A well rounded story!"
    Any additional comments?

This was a gorgeous love story! I really enjoyed how this story unfolded as Carter and Kara went from a casual fling to something serious! Leddy Harper's narrative was addictive and fast paced! There was always something happening in this story but without any over the top drama! At times I did get a bit frustrated with the constant hot and cold vibe that Carter gave off but I could understand his reasons for this! I loved that when Carter needed Kara the most, she stepped up and was so patient with his grumpy and volatile mood. This was my first time listening to Charley Ongel and Tor Thom, and I thought that they did a great job! And the best part was that this was a duet narration!!
