Kisa Volkova is the only daughter of Kirill "the Silencer" Volkov, head of the infamous Red bosses of New York's Russian Bratva. Her life is protected, but it's also a virtual prison. Her father's savage treatment of his rivals and his lucrative and coveted underground gambling ring - the Dungeon - ensure that too many enemies lurk at their door. She dreams to be set free.

While working for her church - the only reprieve in her constant surveillance - Kisa stumbles across a tattooed, scarred, but stunningly beautiful homeless man on the streets. Something about him stirs feelings deep within her - familiar yet impossibly forbidden desires. He's a man beyond saving, but Kisa becomes obsessed with him. Yearns for him. Craves his touch. Needs to possess this mysterious man, this man they call Raze.

Love, Jealousy, Greed, Malice, Revenge &Redemption

This isn't your typical dark Russian mafia romance novel -- wait a minute, is there such a thing? If there is, this is a good one! Kisa and Luca developed a strong connection as infants and nothing could break the connection their souls have to each other. This is a very graphic and gritty story of what these two endured before they could fight to be together. Life in the mafia is the harsh reality that Kisa and Luca were born into and even at the top they have to struggle to survive because someone else always want what you have.

I really liked the narration, it sounded like someone is very fluent in Russian. I listened without interruption (at least as much as I could) because I was so enthralled with the story.

Absolutely worth the credit. Even though the series is very dark, I am going to listen to the other books in the series.

Raze - Damaged Souls, Twisted Love, Dark Revenge!

Another heartwretching story by Tillie Cole that's dark, raw, brutal, and beautiful at the same time. Cole knows how to deliver a plot that will suck you in, take you on an emotional roller coaster ride, and keep you on the edge of your seat! But when it's all said and done, you'll remember these characters and their story.

Betrayed and taken from his home, Raze (818) has been brainwashed, tortured, and forced to fight to the death each time he enters the ring. Trapped in this prison, he loses his memories but vows to seek revenge on the one who betrayed him, and condemned him to this way of life. Until he can escape, he must endure the pain, and ensure he's the one who lives through each brutal death match.

Kisa looks like the picture perfect Mafia princess; however, she a prisoner to her fiancé and the Mafia way of life. Her fiancé, Alik, is over possessive, dominating, and controls Kisa by intimidation, and rough sex. After Kisa lost the love of her life, she has accepted her place within the Mafia organization and at Alik's side. Because of Alik's temper, she's afraid to defy or leave him. Not only is Alik cruel, he's also the undefeated death match champion, and is gearing up for his next big fight to the death.

When Raze gains his freedom, he starts his journey seeking vengeance, but finds himself facing an old rival, and a lost love.

While this story was dark, raw, brutal and sometimes hard to listen too, it was captivating, heart warming, and emotional. I loved it! Well worth the time and worth a credit.

DARK RAW GRITTY BUT HEARTBREAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL TOO

Raze wasn't his real name, nor was 818.... he didn't know what it was because since he was a very young teen he has been brainwashed, injected, abused, treated like dirt, caged like an animal and used daily for one-on-one fighting to the death for gambler's kicks. It was a brutal life - kill or be killed and, as time went on, he forgot everything about his past..... except a name, a place and the word revenge because those words had been carved in his cell so he'd never ever forget. And when he finally escaped that's where he headed..... but he found much much more than he was expecting.

Kisa is a Mafia Princess who had been so in love with the boy she'd grown up with and, as the years passed by they became inseparable soul-mates destined to marry but tragedy struck when it was reported that he'd killed her brother and stabbed their friend. The punishment was a children's work camp but en-route his coach was in an accident with no survivors and only burnt bodies left. Now she was engaged to the friend who'd been stabbed, he was the Mafia Triad's heir which made him untouchable but he was also a junkie whose nature was to be sexually violent and demanding, abusive, dominant, crazy, jealous and unpredictable he treated Kisa like his prisoner and yet he couldn't live without her.

Her only escape was to help the Church feed the homeless a couple of times a week while he was off partying and whoring around. Then one night her life changed when a hero came to her rescue, a huge hero who was wearing a hoodie pulled down over his face, there was no words but there was something about him that stirred her soul and she went in search of him to thank and help him.... but she found much much more.... shocking life changing things.

This is dark, it's brutal and not a listen for the faint of heart because there's angry sex, beatings, rape, cage blood and gore, a sad history of Raze's torture, rape, being drugged in order to forget and a couple of cold blooded killings. But the main meat of this plot is the beautiful undying love story between two people whose souls had been ripped apart then gently reunited. Raze was trained to be a monster but he was so vulnerable, lost, alone and broken but when Kisa came into his life, and turned it upside down, he was tender, passionate and entirely focused on her. There's so so much more to this amazing story but I don't want to spill and spoil.

Worth a credit? What a listen, it was raw but it was compelling, it was brutal but also beautiful and it was heartbreaking yet also heartwarming. Dual POV's, Guy's narration was great and Amelie's was ok, no cliffhanger and a HEA ending. If you want a dark broody romance then very creditworthy but if you're looking for a bit more light then perhaps look elsewhere.

A Sexy Soul Wrenching Series

What a crazy sexy new series! The intensity - the suspense - the passion - the heat... it's almost too much. Readers feel exactly what these tormented characters are experiencing and can do nothing less than pray for the best possible outcome. This is dark romance at its best, with violence that builds on the story, sex that creates connection and monsters that you fall in love with. Seriously, it is panty melting with the narration in the Russian accented voices. This is definitely one of those books where the narration enhances the story. Hot. Hot. Hot.

Good read/listen

I enjoyed this book. It wasn't as nail biting as many of Tillie Coles books are but it did have the suspense and emotion in them. The ending was very predictable as many others have said but I still enjoyed the journey. There is rape both male and female so this is not for the faint of heart but it is a great story. Now I am on to listen to Reap. -Dink

Great story....but very dark.

I loved this story. I was hooked from the first chapter. It's not unusual for me to read dark romances. This however was REALLY dark and gruesome at times. I found myself skipping sections when it got to be too much. I however, didn't consider not finishing it because the story was just that good.

The narration was good. I especially liked Guy Locke.
