Contains mature themes.
I loved this book. It made me laugh and even shed a tear or two. I REALLY like the narrator. I will be listening to it again without a doubt. I loved how the brought in a few of the characters from the Burnout series. Nice to see Jack and Chris patch things up. Finally Rawlings gets what he deserves!!!! There were a few inconsistencies. and editing was a bit weird in a few instances but over all I really loved it.

What a captivating, and heart warming story! West has done it again! After listening to the Burnout series, I was excited to learn about the spin off, Rapid City Stories, and it's first story, Preacher. West does an outstanding job developing a plot that is well balanced with humor, drama, violence, steamy sex scenes with plenty of dirty talk, and a awesome HEA. What I liked even more than the plot, was the character development.
As leader of a MC club, Preacher has done a lot of bad things in his life, but when he is left for dead, he is forced to leave Rapid City to recover, and plot his revenge. He eventually finds himself on a ranch where he meets Erin. Their first encounter is not on the friendliest of terms, but they will soon learn they both need each other. Erin is strong independent women who is trying to prove she can make it, but in reality she needs assistance to run the ranch, and Preacher is the perfect person. As the days pass, and these two become closer, we see Preacher's character transform from the harden biker to a loveable man who is crazy about his women and dog. Their journey was fun to hear unfold, from the laugh out loud moments, playful banter to the steamy sex scenes. You can't help but to fall in love with these two characters. When trouble comes knocking, Preacher will whatever it takes to keep Erin safe.
Mason Lloyd did outstanding job narrating this story, and was able to portray the characters, and emotions flawlessly. I sure hope there are plans to release West's other series in audio! I'm definitely on-board for any future books by the West/Lloyd team!

What disappointed you about Preacher?
Preacher is the president of a biker gang called the Buzzard's. The Buzzard's own the "drug trade" in Rapid City. The book is about gang life, prostitutes, and dirty cops. And of course change. I won't say I was disappointed in his character. His character was fairly well written. I didn't care for the story line.
What was most disappointing about Dahlia West’s story?
This is the first book I've listened to from Dahlia West. I purchased it based on the reviews and story line. This book was too violent and sexually crude for me. If this book is typical of her writing, I won't be listening or reading any more of her books. I regret finishing it and not returning it after the first 2 chapters.
Have you listened to any of Mason Lloyd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't listened to Mason Lloyd before. I liked the performance he gave, even though I didn't like the story.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Preacher?
I would have cut the scene in the beginning when Preacher Killed two of his gang members for betrayal.
Any additional comments?
At times I found it hard to follow what was going on. There were moments where Preacher is remembering his past, however there was no lead in to that memory. The first time he started a memory I actually backed up the story thinking I had missed something. The author did this several times throughout the book, each time I kept thinking I was lost. Without giving a spoiler alert, I didn't care much for the ending. I could come up with at least two other possible endings which would have made more sense.

Who was your favorite character and why?
Jake! He was sweet and protected his family. Loving and strong.
Which scene was your favorite?
I LOVED the fight between Jake and the rooster! I LOVED IT! It was hilarious. I laughed so hard i cried. "Cock-a-doodle-do Mother Fucker!" LOL!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed mostly and my heart was touched, with a little teardrop here and there.
Any additional comments?
Very good writing.

Here we're back in Rapid City where we're catching up where we're with Rapid City's MC President Jack 'Preacher' Prior's Club Brothers get to him before he puts his plan in action.
He's battered & literally at death's door when he comes across Thunder Ridge Reanch owned by horse (I'll say) whisperer Erin Walker.
He at first stays hidden to her, until he sees that she nearly gets attacked. And here we see the start to the end of Jack's MC's days over.
It's a beautiful slow but quick turnaround as Jack is becoming a horse rancher alongside Erin in the 18 mths he's been living at the ranch.
But then things changes when a couple of the MC men turn up & Jack decides he has to go back & finish off EVERYTHING from his past...
Another Great Episode
Loved it! So funny listening to Jack talking to the animals. Sorry it had to end.
i really enjoyed the interaction with the dog and the chicken. about to get the 2nd story
I haven’t read too many motorcycle club books, but I really liked the narrator’s voice and listened to all of the books in the Burnout series before moving on to Jack’s story. This was my favorite of all of them, probably because it had very little to do with the motorcycle club. It was a redemption story, and I’m a big fan of those.
Jack, AKA Preacher, and Erin are thrust into each other's lives when Jack is betrayed by his bike club and he is injured and left for dead. he ends up at Erin's Farm and takes her as his hostage while he's trying to figure out his next move.
Erin is never portrayed as a wilting flower. She is both brave and strong but yet vulnerable and feminine. of course the to form a bond when Jack ends up coming to her rescue as her unlikely hero.
Jack is amazed by how strong she is in the face of something most women would be in tears over and falling apart. he sees how beautiful and clean her life is and though he knows he doesn't deserve to have any part of her he can't help himself from falling for her.
Erin is drawn to the strength, and Jack's dominant nature but she sees what he never sees in himself, she sees his goodness in his heart. Then the story of course has to have a nosey law enforcement agent, and the past that comes back. The book is cleverly written and intriguing to listen to. I recommend this book. The romance is steamy and believable and I enjoyed it from start to finish.
I have liked all of these books and this is no exception. Performed beautifully by Mason Lloyd. I will be sad if thete are no more in this series.

FANTASTIC read and the narrator made it for me. Will be definitely reading other books .
Fantastic on all counts, best book of the series. I love, love love Mason Lloyd as a narrator. I could listen to this all over again. some good jokes and puns from earlier books, the overlap and tie in very well.
This book is so beautiful and memorable
Made me cry with sadness and with happiness
I love it ....
I loved it! full on action & romance with humour too. the funniest part was Jack, the dog & the roaster, HD hated that roaster especially when it totally outsmarted Jack, the best laugh I've had in along time. I highly recommend this book
