Publisher's summary

While Navy SEAL Rafe Buchanan is stuck at the airport, he is captivated by the woman cursing a blue streak with a take no prisoners attitude. He invites her for drinks and realizes she's everything he gave up hoping he'd find. But a random glance at a TV monitor ends their flirting when Meghan Henley sees her brother's missionary group was kidnapped in Afghanistan.

Meghan turns to Rafe as her world is flipped upside down. How could one man already mean so much to her? And Rafe is determined to help the woman who has stolen his heart. Realizing the deadly situation, he calls John "Tex" Keegan to help.

When Rafe is called away on a mission, Meghan asks Tex's help to stage her own rescue of her brother. But things go sideways when she is taken hostage. Will Rafe, Tex, and the rest of the Black Eagle SEAL team be able to get to the hostages before the Taliban carry out their threats? Or will he be haunted forever knowing he lost his dream?

Another Great SEALS ROMANCE!

It was a great little book, though I wished it was a bit longer. Just the right amount of romance. Yes, it was a bit unbelieveable, but that's why we enjoy those sappy romances.

As far as books to listen to goes

I was happy enough with this book it didn’t have the depth of emotion like some but it wasn’t lacking in a complete storyline I could have had more of the main couple but overall wasn’t mad I listened

a single untrained small reporter, who thinks she can take on the Taliban. Alone, causing danger for others!!!, yet she is labeled "Brave"- ?????

Ridiculous

It’s like someone sat down and said “I’m going to write the most ridiculous and unbelievable story anyone has ever heard” and created this book

not enough character development

I listened to this book because of it's tie in to Susan Stoker's books. Unfortunately, while the plot idea and narrator performance were great, there was minimal character development and relationship build up.

Ridiculous

I kept telling myself, it will get more believable. But from almost the beginning, things even more ridiculous kept happening. 1) Tex, a character from other stories/authors, would NEVER agree to help in this capacity. 2) How absolutely naive and stupid would someone have to be, to go to a war zone? Megan has ZERO real world experience, and literally writes Obits — nothing remotely related to foreign relations. 3) Megan’s character was extremely hard to relate to as she kept making stupid decisions. 4) When being held captive, she basically gave up the first instant the terrorists separated her, which is against her character that the author had been building from the start.

All of this aside, it wasn’t a terrible story. I was beyond frustrated, repeating to myself “This is RIDICULOUS” or “This is unbelievable” — I found it really hard to get past the complete lack of believability of this story. I did like Rafe’s character, though.

War Zone Duo!

On the fence about this story. Part is exciting and part just drags.

Rafe is a secure man (not alpha) soft spoken, kind, intelligent & dashing! AHHH!
Megan is quick, witty, outgoing and ballzy!

The story is ok. (just not developed as I was hoping!)

It didn't make sense when Megan flew into Afghanistan and was planning on talking to the Taliban! WHAA? Really...LOL??? The Taliban was involved in a hostage situation and things were heated. Afghanistan wasn't allowing US citizens into the country ...but Megan just sneaks into the country? How did Megan think she was going to rescue her Bro and all of his amigos? By her going into a war zone - she added herself to the hostage list and made a bigger mess for the Military to clean up. (Megan seemed rather stupid at that point.) Everyone knows the Taliban doesnt deal with women - they treat women like dogs! UHH!

I was hoping the author would have made Megan a bit more intelligent.

One min she was willing to give up her life for her job, the next she wanted to quit! OMG! Megan's character is all over the board! I was hoping by Megan going to Afghanistan SHE would have rescued Rafe! Thats why I thought the author put them there together! I was hoping for a Super women - strong female lead.

Overall Megan is very immature!

The sexy scene was way too quick and needed more description. (it was over in a heartbeat)

Super job narrating Emma!
- Namaste!
