Publisher's summary

The second installment in Kresley Cole’s best-selling steamy Immortals After Dark series is now available on audio for the first time!

Centuries ago, Sebastian Wroth was turned into a vampire - a nightmare in his mind - against his will. Burdened with hatred and alone for ages, he sees little reason to live - until an exquisite, fey creature comes to kill him, inadvertently saving him instead.

When Kaderin the Cold Hearted lost her two beloved sisters to a vampire attack long ago, a benevolent force deadened her sorrow - accidentally extinguishing all of her emotions. Yet whenever she encounters Sebastian, her feelings - particularly lust - emerge multiplied. For the first time, she’s unable to complete a kill.

The prize of the month-long contest is powerful enough to change history, and Kaderin will do anything to win it for her sisters. Wanting only to win her, forever, Sebastian competes as well, taking every opportunity - as they travel to ancient tombs and through catacombs, seeking relics around the world - to use her new feelings to seduce her. But when forced to choose between the vampire she’s falling for and reuniting her family, how can Kaderin live without either?

I love this series so much!

This is the best series I’ve listened to in a long time. It’s definitely on my all time favorites list. These books have a way of consuming you. I listened all day and never got tired of it. Never got bored in the least. And w/ a book this long that is rare. These books are exciting, suspenseful, sexy, and funny! There are some seriously funny things going on in these books.
They are definitely worth the credits. Can’t wait for the next one!

Liked it

Any additional comments?

Good Book. Some things were predictable but some were surprises. Make sure you read this book before starting book 4. If you don't, you'll get spoilers for this book. The narrator is AWESOME.

A LIFE CHANGING GAME

This second book was better than the last! Cole seems to have such a way to write characters in such a way that make them seem like nothing could possible work between them, and then she surprises you over and over again. She certainly did that in No Rest for the Wicked as a valkyrie, Kaderin, meets her match in a vampire, Sebastian, and sworn enemy.

Kaderin has every reason to hate vampires considering one killed her sisters years ago...now she hunts them and saves a fang for everyone she kills. Sebastian, on the other hand, was forced into becoming a vampire by his brother, and has lived with it, hating every minute for the past three hundred years, but he wishes to no longer.

The day he meets Kaderin everything changes... he is brought back to life, and for the first time Kaderin is unable to kill a vampire. As Kaderin enters the High, a month-long competition promising a reward that can bring back her sisters, after meeting Sebastian, he ends up following her through it while trying to win her over. Just when you think things are possible...the game changes again.

This book has it all...suspense, action, intensity, death, and life...not to mention more great characters and great lines!! I am loving these books, and I can't stop reading/listening to them. Robert Petkoff is great, and all I can do is keep going... :)

Good but I'm glad its over ....

This is a really hard review for me to write because this is a great book. The world KC has built is unique and vast the audio performer RP didn't just read lines in a pleasant voice he put a lot of effort into acting them out making me feel confusion pain joy lust and love from what KC wrote. There is a massive amount of adventure cool Vamp tricks and brutal competition between very powerful beings. Between KC's words and RP's performance I could envision the desert or the jungle the sounds of water or fire, of them fighting. The problem was I had a very hard time liking Kad the heroin. I am not a big fan of jockeying someone's emotions back and forth especially when it is excessively drawn out. And the journey to the HEA was long and mentally taxing and Kad was unnecessarily brutal to Bastin quite a few times when all he wanted was to love her and be loved. I wanted to step into the book more than a few times and say hey you idiot I know you are desperate to get your sisters back and yeah he's a Vamp but so what just take a second and LOOK at what is right in front of you right now in the here and now stop focusing on the past!!! But its over and I am more than a wee bit concerned about Bowen who was left badly injured in a dangerous fire trap of a cave si I am on to the next book.....

LOVED THIS STORY SO SO SO MUCH!!! 100% PERFECTION!

Where does No Rest for the Wicked: Immortals After Dark, Book 3 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was a fabulous story...a really great PNR...sexy too!!

What did you like best about this story?

Kaderin the Cold Hearted, and how Sebastian melted her cold little heart...I loved it when he told her she was tiny...LOL He kept insulting her by accident, then redeeming himself...it was a rocky romance there for a bit!!

Which character – as performed by Robert Petkoff – was your favorite?

Kaderin and her merry band of Valkyries!!!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely!

Any additional comments?

OMG I FLOVED THIS BOOK! I am stealing the word Flove from my book friend Lydia...lol but it sums it up!!! This was a great story.so well told narrated to perfection and left me wanting more more more!! Kaderin and Sebastian were so cute together, he would tick her off and accidentally insult her, then make little deals with her, but I truly think in the end she got the best part of the bargain....she got the love of a good and honorable man, who will always put her happiness before his own, that's true love for sure, and after all what more can an old as dirt Valkyrie ask for?! Sebastian melted her heart and she showed him he was worth loving too!! Dreamy little HEA!!! :)

The Voice

What made the experience of listening to No Rest for the Wicked the most enjoyable?

Robert Petkoff's voice is amazing, he pulls accents out of his hat and does them smoothly even when he switching from a Scott to a Russian!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Reagan, so I can not wait to read/hear her book. They just need to record them faster, I bought all the books so if Audible doesnt catch up with me in time, I still get my characters just not with that great voice behind them.

What does Robert Petkoff bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice and energy.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both, and I just cant stop listening, I listen at work, home, gym, I am obsessed.
