I really enjoyed listening to the story unfold, it had twists and turns and steamy love scenes, along with a HEA. This was great I recommend it to all. I received it as an arc and voluntarily reviewed it to all.
I really liked the narrator of this audiobook. Norris is excellent with her characters and the background noises she makes. Audio quality is really great as well!
Story wise I enjoyed the majority of it. I do wish it had focused some more on the mischief murder and mayhem. But the romance and the thrills are certainly there.
Fire is a a BDSM romantic suspense story that listeners/readers would love to listen/read again and again. Savannah Summers' mission in Iraq has been compromise and in order to redeem herself to the Security League Alliance Enterprises (SLAE), she agreed to go under by infiltrating into the Diamond Club, as Naeva, fiance to Liam who is an elite member of the Diamond Club.
Savannah was to use Liam to find out when and where is the next diamond heist. The assignment sounded so simple until everything went wrong. Savannah is torn her desire between Liam and Master Steel yet there are times when Liam shows her his affection and shared some of this secrets and dreams with her.
There are so many secrets, intrigue, unexpected twists and turns and that self-control from Savannah and Liam fighting their attraction to each other and from time to time, they would give into their desire. It is a cat and mouse game between Savannah and Liam. Each has so much to lose unless both can found a way out of both their predicament.
The narrator Lynn Norris does a wonderful job in narrating the characters in the story. Listeners can feel Savannah's pain of wanting to belong to something or someone, to be part of a family and Liam's discontentment of being an elite member of the Diamond Club. Listeners will hear Liam's scowl of how his life turned out to be.
Fire is a must read book for fans of legal age, who love intrigue, crime, thrillers, erotic/kinky sex, and romantic suspense.
I was given this audio book by the author. I have volunteer to write an unbiased review of the book. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.
This was a great story filled with action, suspense, drama, twists and turns that I could not get enough of. Lynn Norris did a wonderful job bringing the story to life with easy to understand and distinguishable characters. I look forward to more from this Author and in this series.
This book is well written and worth the time to listen. My applause this author this book was excellent. The narrator did an awesome job on distinguishing between the characters. I would recommend this book to everyone. The storyline kept me on edge and able to stop listen. I can’t wait to the next book in the series.
Normally I'm not into modern romances, but there's something about millionaire romances that hooks me. This one had some extra levels of interest for me: espionage, S&M, and nefarious acts to get those millions.
I liked hearing about Savannah's time in Mosul. It gave insight into how she knew how to sneak, lie, and submit. I was left kind of confused as to if she actually liked submitting, or if it was just Mr Steel making her hot. The inner monologue made it sound like she hated the submission. I also thought there'd be more domination in this book, when in was confined to just the strumpets' room. It wasn't even vaguely mentioned in the actual sex scene, which was a letdown. There was quite a bit of unrestrained sexual escapades mentioned throughout the club, though, which made up for it.
trying not to spoil too much... There were some ??? moments for me, like why SLAE would fire her so abruptly. Why did they end it? What reputable agency would end an assignment without retrieving their employee? The last few scenes were a rushed thing and not explained at all, which was very frustrating. Especially when there a nine month gap. I thought for sure a baby was about to be mentioned. Of all the things Savannah went through, THAT gave her ptsd? apparently it worked out in the end, so that was another confusing thing for me.
All in all, I enjoyed the book and would be interested in hearing more about the club. Murder, thievery, alliances, feuds, and romance all added up to a story worth a credit, in my opinon.
As to the narrator -- I adore Lynn's voice and ability to create so many unique characters. She moans, groans, yawns, laughs, and even sings, which adds SO much depth to any reading.
I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an unbiased review
