The first book was more....... exciting

Would you consider the audio edition of Fifty Shades Darker to be better than the print version?

N/A, I don't plan on reading the print version

If you’ve listened to books by E L James before, how does this one compare?

I liked the first one, Fifty shades of Grey better

Which character – as performed by Becca Battoe – was your favorite?

Ana, this time, I liked Kate best in the first book but Ana turned out to be more exciting this time

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Traditional Marriage ahead

Any additional comments?

No, I wish the author had stuck with the darker side a bit longer

Better Reader

What did you love best about Fifty Shades Darker?

The second book was more about them falling in love and learning to trust each other, and of course getting to know each other better. You get the darker partof Christians' story (hence the title Fifty Shades DARKER). Its was a good book kept my attention.

A Fantastic Sophomore effort!!! 5 Stars!!!

I have to be honest and say that all the bad reviews I read before purchasing the books turned me off. So I decided to be safe and get the first installment from the public library. Of course I was on a waiting list, #255. A friend gave me the Trilogy as a gift. I was totally hooked after reading the first book, Fifty Shades of Gray. From what I have read about the author, Fifty Shades was her freshman effort. Not too often that authors’ have a home run so to speak right out of the box. Fifty Shades was pretty damn good in my opinion. Fifty Shades Darker is no exception.

Christian is a likable character but man he is really “f..... up” in the head and deeply damaged. To say he is flawed would be too weak of a description. By definition a flaw is ….a physical disfigurement that prevents something from being totally perfect and detracts from its value. On the outside Christian is beautiful, financially successful, and generous. He does not see his own self-worth. That is really what kept me listening and pulled me in deeper. I just had to see if this guy was going to be ok and if Anna would make a difference in his life. For a lack of a better description, Christian is a walk on the dark side of sexuality.

What I did not expect was to be moved to tears because of the horrible things that happened to Christian in his young life. I did not expect to find myself laughing at Anna’s inner Goddess and her self-conscience which were like two minor characters with their own personalities.

The narration of the 1st and 2nd books was really adequate to me; I could not find any fault with it. In fact the narrator did a pretty good job in conveying some serious and disturbing emotions from Christian and making the reader feel how young and inexperienced Anna really is, the young sounding voice just added to this fact for me.

Christian’s big reveal knocked me for a loop. So Keep Calm and Stow Your Twitchy Palm! It’s ok the Trilogy is worth purchasing. I do recommend getting this trilogy, because I have already downloaded the 3rd installment. I now know what the hype is all about and it’s not hype, it’s pretty shocking and pretty darn good. If you liked Tempted and Naked, and the character Alex by Megan Hart this Trilogy will move you too.

Does it really have to end?

If you could sum up Fifty Shades Darker in three words, what would they be?

I couldn't believe how book 1 ended.....so much of a cliffhanger I stopped at the next McDonalds to download book 2. And book 3.....wow, suspense and satisfaction of the story but like so many of my friends that have also read the books, now I'm on Fifty Shades withdrawal. While I may never find my "Christian" and I will never be as beautiful as Anna, this was "the" best story I have read in a real long time. The story is more about relationship development than sex....but oh was it tantalizing sex. In a lot of ways, it's a familiar story but E L James puts enough fresh stuff in it that it leaves you on the edge of your seat, always wanting more.<br/><br/>As for the movie I hear they're considering....I don't see how it could even compare to the book in many ways, but yes, I'd go see it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kate - I can really relate to her "rebel" nature and her thirst for answers...yet her shy/unsure and caring nature.

Have you listened to any of Becca Battoe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was the first one.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot. I loved Kate's "inner goddess" the most! She was a hoot!

Love it!

What did you love best about Fifty Shades Darker?

I didn't have any annoyance with Becca Battoe's narration. In fact I thought she did better in this one by not making the male characters sound constipated.

Which character – as performed by Becca Battoe – was your favorite?

Anastasia

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES YES YES!!!!

Any additional comments?

This is the best book in the series

Would you consider the audio edition of Fifty Shades Darker to be better than the print version?

for me yes becase I can listen and do lame tasks like fold the laundry

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fifty Shades Darker?

The best part is when she wants to leave and he goes into the submissive position - OMG. This book is the best one in the entire series. Totally romantic and all the right amount of wanting to know what happens. I read all of them and think I may listen to this one again.

Which character – as performed by Becca Battoe – was your favorite?

I listend to the first book in the orignal performance, I thought it was good - no complaints. It was hard at first to get into her new voice for anna but got used to it. Both are good performances, I don't know why she is getting flack for it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, at the end where he takes her to the boat house and says, "you have my heart, now here are the flowers" Kind of sappy but I ate it up. All I have to say is I didn't know how awesome romances were until I read this book - I'm turning into my grandmother.
