Aaric Christos was a guy who protected me. Wanted me. Maybe even loved me.
That man is gone.
In his place is the most powerful real estate tycoon in the city.
He’s a cold, ruthless, aggressive businessman.
The only one who can save me and my startup from ruin.
It takes every ounce of courage to put my pride aside and ask for his help.
I didn’t expect him to offer it easily.
And he doesn’t.
Instead, he vets me harder than he’s vetted anyone.
Don’t invest in what you don’t know, he says.
He’s assessing every piece of me, to the point I’ve never felt so bare.
I yearn for the boy I once knew, whose touch once craved me.
Putting it all on the line will be worth it, I tell myself.
Until I realize—too late—that some risks are not worth taking.
*A sexy new standalone contemporary romance by New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Katy Evans.

What didn’t you like about Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York ’s performance?
I wanted MORE of Sebastian's voiceAny additional comments?
I was so looking forward to reading this book. I found it very disappointing I couldn't connect with the characters. At times I felt that Bryn and Christos were ill-matched, and I didn't buy into the story completely. Plus, I didn't find it interesting until the last few chapters. But on the bright side, I did like the ending. The Real Series and White House Duet are my ABSOLUTE favorites from the author and I was surprised and disappointed that this book didn't make the cut with me. I won't let that discourage me, I am looking forward to the next book.
Looks like I'm in the Minority

Ok, I actually read this before I listened to it. As soon as I saw Sebastian York name attached, I hit preorder right away. I think I preferred listening to this more that I did reading. Sebastian and Elizabeth gave the characters that extra added depth that made me enjoy the story all the more. They really brought the characters to life for me.
Kindle Review:
I have a small list of authors that are on my "Blind Read" List. A "blind read" is one where I don't read the blurb, I just see the author's name and title and I dive right in. Katy Evans is on that list and she did not disappoint in the least. It was funny, a bit aggravating at times, a little heart-wrenching, and a whole lot panty melting!
Christos is super sexy. At first though, I wasn't too sure about him. He was just so cagey and it did take a bit to warm up to him. I loved Bryn right from the start. She had this quirkiness that I liked right away. The two together were a force. Their chemistry was felt through the pages.
Katy Evans is a favorite of mine and I will not hesitate to do another "blind read" with any of her books.
Funny, heart-wrenching, and more!
