Publisher's Summary

Lucas Thatcher has always been my enemy.

It's been a decade since I've seen him, but our years on opposite coasts were less of a lasting peace and more of a temporary cease-fire. Now that we're both back in our small town, I know Lucas expects the same old war, but I've changed since high school - and from the looks of it, so has he.

The arrogant boy who was my teenage rival is now a chiseled doctor armed with intimidating good looks. He is Lucas Thatcher 2.0, the new and improved version I'll be competing with in the workplace instead of the schoolyard.

I'm not worried; I'm a doctor now too, board-certified and sexy in a white coat. It almost feels like winning will be too easy - until Lucas unveils a tactic neither of us has ever used before: sexual warfare.

The day he pushes me up against the wall and presses his lips to mine, I can't help but wonder if he's filling me with passion or poison. Every fleeting touch is perfect torture. With every stolen kiss, my walls crumble a little more. After all this time, Lucas knows exactly how to strip me of my defenses, but I'm in no hurry to surrender.

Knowing thy enemy has never felt so good.

    "Annoying Lead Female and narration."

WOW Daisy was so darn annoying all the time. She was immature, reckless and hard to believe she was supposed to be a doctor. Geez. She was not funny at all. Lucas should have told her to get lost a long time ago.

All she did was fight with him, compete with him. I just wanted to slap the crap out of her she was so bad.

This is one of the worst contemporary romance books I have ever read/listened to. Not to mention it was written in the first person from her point of view so not only did we listen to her about her arch enemy Lucas we had to listen to all that internal dialogue about him. UGH!

As for the narration, it was not very good at all. Kimberly Roelle did not even try to change her voice for Lucas or anyone else for that matter. I was hoping that when Joshua Kumler would get his chance to narrate that he would be better so only half the narration would suck. Nope. Joshua Narrated 3 sections I think and they were all about one paragraph long each. What was the point in having him narrate anything? I don't know.

I can't recommend this book or this narration at all. This was a free read and 1.99 audible. It's a good thing too. It was still a waste of my time. Sigh....
