Publisher's Summary

When your life is a hot mess at 20, it's cute. At 27...well, not so much.

It's just that my lofty dreams - making it as a real estate agent, paying rent on time, showering daily - have stayed just that: dreams. Oh, and love? I've decided love might be a little ambitious for me at the moment. Instead, I've settled for the two guys who will never leave me: Ben & Jerry.

That is, until Dr. Adam Foxe takes up residence as the town's new vet.

With his strong jaw, easy confidence, and form-fitting scrubs, it's not long before every housewife in Hamilton is dragging neglected tomcats in for weekly checkups.

Like everyone else, I'm intrigued. Even after I spoil my chance at a good first impression, he still offers me a proposition I can't refuse: play his girlfriend at a family function and he'll hire me as his real estate agent. Welcome to love in the 21st century.

It's too bad I underestimated Adam's irresistible charm and the undeniable attraction that burns between us. The day he pins me to the wall and silences me with a kiss, the line between reality and ruse begins to blur. Every teasing touch brings me to my knees. Every kiss promises more.

It looks like my hot mess of a life is about to get a little hotter.

Funny but with creepy moments

The book is funny and well written. I enjoyed listening to most of it, but the main male character was disturbing: using his physical advantage to restrain a woman that is trying to leave, forcibly kissing people, sending mixed signals big time...
Wacked personalities are all around IRL, I don't need them crawling in my lighthearted leisure books posing as ideal men.

I loved it!

I'm not usually one for audio books, unless it's by one of my favorite authors, but I really enjoyed this. I usually purchase the ebook and abandon the audio book because I'm too impatient to wait and see what happens, but I didn't get the urge with this book. I was too entertained by the narrators' performances and the book itself. the storyline and characters had me laughing out loud many times throughout. I'll definitely be listening to this again, and also searching for more books with these narrators and by this author.

Average but characters didn't have chemistry

I finished...that's about all I can say. More like 2.5 stars, not 3. The main characters didn't have chemistry and they weren't very likable.

The Foxe & the Hound

The author is new to me. I really enjoyed it. I laughed out loud, not just a giggle here and there, but a laugh throughout the story. This is going on my Favorite list and will be listened to again. The narrators were very good. I would definitely recommend a credit or buying. Enjoy!

yesssssss

I love R.S. Grey but I prefer audiobooks over ebook, so I've been waiting for this one!!!

It was worth the wait.

I am a sucker for a good contemporary read, especially if it’s a hate-to-love type of romance novel. That kept me totally hooked!

R.S. Grey is so good at creating hilarious scenarios that draw her characters together. The characters and their dialogue were so genuine and totally relatable, which made this a really fun listen.

Can't forget to mention the adorable Mouse--probably the best character yet! :D

HEA

I laughed out loud quite a few times during this and was happy to get my happily-ever-after fix. There was just the right amount of sexiness, too.
I will probably listen to a few of her other stories now. The narrators for this one were also great, Joe Arden was perfection!!

Funny and cute

I really liked the heroine in this one. Unpredictably funny and cute. It was a great distraction from heavier reads. I'll be following this author.

Immature Female Main Character

It was hard to get through. There were some funny parts but the female main character was difficult to get behind. She was very immature and it drove me crazy.

Light, fun reading

This was light and fun but rather predictable. The premise is good but there is a lot of going round in circles with a weak heroine.

Cliffhanger? NO

Did I like it? Yes. But I could not stand Adam.

Story: I thought the story was really cute and sweet. Madeleine was a sweet quirky character stuck in a small town but waiting to have a solid relationship and not succeeding at her job as a real estate agent. Adam moved to town from Chicago and is a veterinarian. He's still got hangups from his past relationship and engagement. Once they finally got together, I loved them together. I also enjoyed the fact that Madeleine's hard work at work paid off in the end. This probably would have been 4 stars if Adam hadn't been such a jerk.

Characters: I really enjoyed Madeleine throughout the whole book. Although, I didn't understand why she wasn't good at her job. It seemed like she was motivated and she did research for all the homes she showed. She was personable. I'm not sure what the problem was. Regardless her and her dog Mouse were fun and funny to read about.

Adam mostly annoyed me throughout the whole book. At first he's just so rude. I understand initially but after his first meeting with Madeleine, I felt he could have gotten over what happened and been nicer. Yet every occasion it seems he treated her like crap. Even after she helps him. He kept her hanging while flirting and saying he does and he doesn't want her. Even when it finally seems like he's ready to be with her, his ex comes back into the picture to ruin things. Adam hasn't learned anything and doesn't handle the situation well at all. He didn't need to go out to dinner with his ex when it's a small town and everyone's going to talk. They could have gone for coffee. UGGHHHHH and then at the very end he acts like Madeleine is being ridiculous for her feelings. That's what of the worst things to me when someone treats a person like their feelings aren't valid.

Narration: Absolutely loved the narration. Joe Arden is always amazing and although I hadn't listened to Luci Christian before, she did a pretty great job.
