Love this Book!

This is the book I turn to for practice, warm-ups and copy interpretation clarity. Plus, I really enjoy the spoken word chapter. It's challenging & I love it when I nail them (lol).

Practical and Inspiring

I have had this book in written form for about a year. It was no nice to finally have the audio version, so instead of leafing through pages to find my work out I just dial it up on audio. It is great to practice along with Rodney and his energy and enthusiasm really come through! If you sing or do voice over...you need this audio book!

The guide to COMMAND YOUR VOICE & YOUR WORLD!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No question about it!! This book provides the confidence that so many lack because of a failure to master speaking. I have few friends who are actively in voice over, but many whom are active in some form of public speaking or who desire to be and the fear that comes along with standing in front of group of people is one thing, but also not having the command of words compounds that fear. I trust Rodney Saulsberry's proven techniques and I firmly believe that they can help me friends elevate their game in whatever industry or profession.

What other book might you compare Rodney Saulsberry's Tongue Twisters and Vocal Warm-Ups to and why?

Toure Roberts "Purpose Awakening". The reason I say this because I see Toure Roberts book as the essential guide to purpose discovery and activation that lead to confidence in life. Likewise, Rodney's book is a guide to mastery of voice, which is essential to building confidence in communication and thus confidence to express oneself.

What about Rodney Saulsberry’s performance did you like?

Rodney's performance is solid! His tone and diction are clear (of course) and the book is easy to follow. Balanced with real life experience and relatable stories along with tips, tools, and techniques provided me the listener/reader with a flow that was easy to follow. Definitely a book I would listen to over and over again.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. You are being trained just listening to Rodney's voice alone. The intentionality of each word and knowing they are purposefully planned and not convoluted and confusing makes this a book worth putting two hours aside for.

Any additional comments?

I read Rodney Saulsberry's first book "You Can Bank on Your Voice", which provided a section on vocal tips and warm ups. That book was essential to my career growth as it made me elevate my speaking when I gave small and large group presentations. This book digs even deeper into the nuts and bolts of the essential elements of speaking and pushes one to be confidence within one self especially after putting these tools to work. Bravo!! Bravo on a job well done!!

Very Useful! PDF included

Tons of useful exercises and tips for voice over and narrators! Not sure why some of the reviews say “needs pdf,” because this audiobook does have an accompanying PDF. (Maybe those reviews were for an older version?)
Great variety of tongue twisters and discussion of adjusting your delivery to fit different situations (announcer vs. commercial vs. audiobook narrator vs. video game VO). Lots of tips for overcoming common recording issues and simply getting the best from your instrument... your voice!
