Publisher's summary

Scarred by the brutal ravages of war, Lorne Gordon, Duke of Sutherland and colonel in the Royal Regiment of Scotland, returns to the Highlands to discover that his clan thought him long dead. His greedy half-brother has assumed his title, sold his family seat, and disappeared with the fortune. Once he engineers the return of his title, he must convince the new estate owner to reverse the wholly legal sale with the promise that his half-brother and the funds will be found. However, that goal seems impossible when Lorne discovers the buyer is none other than the sister of his ex-betrothed.

Return if the Scot

She is determined to hate him for what he did to her sister, but then he returns from the dead. She owns his Castle now of all things, she had bought it for her sister, she thought he had defiled and left town. A lovely romance with a fiesty, on the shelf, shipping magnate and a war hero just returning from years of being captured. Anthony Ferguson does an excellent job with the narration of the audiobook.

Great Narrator Average Read

This is an example of a good predictable book being taken to the next level by a talented narrator that kept me listening. No surprises but a good light read and that charming Scottish brogue kept me entertained Great job Antony Ferguson

I always love the ML voice.

I always feel like the woman’s voices are a little silly but a man can only do so much haha.

Awkward in Every Way

This book is cringe worthy in every way. The character development is minimal and inconsistent. The writing is stilted and unimpressive. The storyline is predictable and rather idiotic at times. It was bad to begin with and progressively somehow managed to get worse. The failed attempts at suspense were ridiculous. The barren beginning and then the repeated awkward sex scenes at the end. UGH! The dialogue is completely ridiculous. The narrator is laughably awful. The repeated and emphasized “ye” and “no”. Good grief, is this guy a novice? The attempted Scottish brogue is horrible. This will definitely be my first and last reading of anything by this author.

It’s…okay

The story was…okay. It was very predictable and cliche, but I guess that is what you get with this author. Happy endings and a bit of trifling strife. The narrator was also…okay. He way over emphasized his ye (the eeeees were too hard and not brogue-ish at all), no’s (same issue), and spoke much slower for dialogue than narration. There were times I thought he was an American impersonating a scot…and not well at all.

Blah!

The characters are one dimensional, the plot predictable, the dialogue boring. The narrator doesn’t help… he makes the women sound stupid… won’t be able to listen to anymore from this author!
