When he agreed to join her, he never expected her to be the enemy....

By day, Lady Jenny Mackintosh helps her widowed mother manage their Highland estate. By night, she risks her life to raise troops, weapons, and coin for the Jacobite rebellion. On one late-night mission, she is confronted by a handsome warrior who happens to be vying for the other side....

English soldiers truly were thieves, rapists & murders with no honor. Barbaric. The rest of the storyline is not all, but mostly fiction. Yet a good story. I like strong women. Especially in that time. Great narration.

English soldiers were the devil incarnate

I liked the whole account of the prowess of the lady although it is an imagined theme.I would have liked a more comprehensive ending with Hamish and I expected a confrontation with Boyd. The first few chapters alluded to a preoccupation that Boyd had towards Jenny and it seems a bit of a loose end letting him go scotfree of all the atrocities.Taurin should have saved Jenny from Boyd's hand at some skirmish. But overall i really enjoyed the tale.We in South Africa really appreciate the Scotts individualistic unpretencious character so similar to our own.

The Glorious cry of battle and love.
