Publisher's summary

Evolution didn't happen out of nowhere. Now, someone has to come all this way, again.

A great con artist can cheat anyone, even death itself. But eventually even they would run out of tricks. And death? Well, death is patient.

It was a battle he couldn't, win but one he had to fight lest he risked falling into the darkness again. But he had nothing to aid him this time around. No allies nor friends. No skills. Not even a body. But what he does have are his wits.

Will that be enough this time? Well, challenge accepted. Let the game begin!

the book continues the storyline in interesting directions only loosing a star for some translation errors and a small pacing issue. overall an all around improvement.

MC freaky but in an interesting way

Victor Alucard continues to explore a different, very different, type of fantasy that combines species survival-of-the-fittest evolution with litRPG level-up game elements. The MC, after being transfer to a parasite in a near-death battle at the end of book 1, takes on the role spy into the enemy camp. Let's just say his method gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "fly on the wall" reconnaissance.

What follows is a story with ample intrigue, multiple betrayals, very strange species along with thrilling battle encounters.

Those, like myself, who enjoyed book 1 will again be treated to another surreal experience made all the more so by Travis Baldree's wonderful performance.

story not really going anywhere, but fun narrator

Can't seem to understand where the underlying plot is between the random upgrades and super powers the MC alone is the recipient of. Travis does a fantastic job of making it worth listening to though.
