Publisher's summary

No matter how many times you die, it still sucks.

The PrimeVerse Omnibus is a special edition of the best selling completed PrimeVerse trilogy.

For Hudson, the virtual world of PrimeVerse isn't all bad. It's beautiful, much nicer than overpopulated Earth. It almost feels like a vacation except for the volatile wildlife, lack of any amenities, and—oh yeah—the inability to log out.

Exploring the world, learning his class, and leveling skills is all fun and games until a powerful rogue player with a vendetta shows up to wipe out Hudson and his primitive tribe. Thrust into a conflict he didn't create, Hudson is forced into a cycle of respawning where he learns that even death can be used as a tool. So much for that vacation.

It's not like he signed up for this. Or even went willingly. But when life hands you lemons . . . use them to kill the dog-size spiders that are trying to eat your face.

Lazy writing at it's meh'ist

right out of the gate it was obvious the author is a city shutin. they didn't seem to know what coconuts look like when they're on the tree. it only gets worse from there. The dialogue is adolescent at best. The story tries to make the MC out to be a special character, but he is just a moron. he makes stupid mistakes and misses other character cues for him to advance relationships.

More please.

I really enjoyed it. Interesting mechanics, good narration. Why so many words to leave a review, audible. I’m trying to keep it succinct here…

Gods but not gods and failure to understand them

This story is ok. The last book was way to much of two characters getting physical to really desire to get through it. The first book had a good twist. Sadly the manna node in the second book was confusing because how did X person claim it if the mission would kill you if you claimed it. The ending was semi-satisfying. The author teases that this series is not done when clearly it is done.

Ruined by a sappy love story

This could have been much better. Book One wasn't bad, It creates an interesting game world. Not nearly as detailed and consistent as the world of "Alpha Physics" which I've also been reading, but still interesting and fun. But then this Madison girl shows up and takes over the whole story. She ruins the main character who is such a sap and can't stop talking about how much she turns him on. But she's still mourning for her dead husband and is sending him mixed signals. Fine, we get it, but that storyline which I just summarized in two sentences, goes on and on and on until, to quote Mark Twain, you just wish they'd both drown in the same boat. Except in this world that wouldn't even end their stupid romance because they'd just respawn and go at it again. Madison is a whiny little b---- with an annoyingly "cute" voice (read by a male narrator which makes it even more annoying. Entire chapters of this book get subsumed by this romance crap that nobody wants to hear about. The adventures and the gaming plot just disappear into this mawkish romance YA crap.

Great

Great story and moved at a fast pace. Character progress wasn’t spammed at you like some LitRPG’s. Need more.

Frustrating

The main character is…useless in combat. He honestly feels like a side character. He isn’t the most helpful in a lot of the books. Also he gets turned on by most of the girls in the book much to my annoyance. The book would have been fine except for the hormones that always seemed to be in a chapter. Honestly it was okay…just ugh.

Just insufferable

I got through the first book hoping the second would be better after the most annoying character left. But book two had another unimportant and insufferable character that clearly was a bad guy and everyone just ignored it.

Difficult to get Through and Frustrating

This book felt like it could be a lot of fun with the concepts. But interesting concepts did not carry this book through.

I found the main character's lack of ability to fight painful to listen to. If the world had been one with less combat, it might have been ok. However, this Omnibus was full of combat and the main character was terrible at combat for the first 2 of three books.

I was also very unhappy with the design of the world itself. The author made several decisions about the game world that made it so people could be absolutely awful beyond what we have in our own world. The ability to kill someone over and over in horrible ways is just a horrible experience to listen to. I really felt like this was just awful. I felt there were other ways to motivate the main character.

There were numerous moments where I felt like the main character was doing horribly stupid things that he just should not let go. I could go into them, but I don't want to add spoilers in case you do listen to the book.

For me it was just difficult to get through and very frustrating to listen to.

What was this

A whole bunch of nothing Writer is clueless. MC stays in his own head so much the story suffers from description overload without advancing. I could go on about how bad this was but why.
