The first standalone novel in The Pucked Series
With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So of course she isn't interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet's misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match. Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants.
Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And text. And email and send extravagant - and quirky - gifts. Suddenly he's too difficult to ignore and nearly impossible not to like. The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn't want to be part of the game.

Featured Article: The top 100 series of all time
The feeling of discovering that your favorite new listen is actually the start of a series is euphoric. That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

Helena Hunting is an upper crust author and it's hard to go wrong with her books. From the very first chapter I was drawn in.Although Violet's character was described as a bit of a nerd, and not one to be promiscuous, her actions painted a different spirit. Admittedly, having no control over her verbal spillage, it seems she had little control over other things her mouth did. And it was the latter that got her tangled with Alex. Alex, on the other hand, applied protective control over what he said. To the world, he appeared different than what he was. Violet was wary of hockey player, and rightly so.
It took time and heartbreak for the HEA to be achieved, but it was beautiful. And very, very hot, the little scamp!
Great Narration! The only thing that took a bit of time to adjust to was Alex's accent. Nathan Everett did an outstanding narrative, so don't get me wrong. But his accent wasn't what I would have for a Canadian man and his voice is higher pitched, where I prefer the Hero to be a bit gravely. Personal preference issue, only.
TWO THUMBS UP! Now... on to Buck's story!
I'M A HOCKEY FAN SO I KNOW HOW HOT THESE MEN ARE!
