Absolutely Loved This Story

This is one if my favorite stories by Leigh Shen!
While the storyline is about young adults it contains mature themes. Bullying, mother-daughter relationships, teens with everything and with nothing, The narration was perfect.

I was, and I am, a huge fan of the Hot-holes Series. So when I saw that there was a spinoff series about the “Totholes”, a.k.a. children of the Hot holes, I was very excited. L.J Shen did not disappoint. She’s brilliant and hilarious, her writing nothing short of magic! Daria and Penn’s story is everything I could have hoped for; it was beautiful, full of amazing but flawed people, heart wrenching suspenseful and steamy! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!

I was also very happy to catch up on Jamie and Melody’s life and see them as parents/adults! Daria is not perfect but perfect is boring, and I love how the author peeled off the layer one at a time letting us into Daria’s world and helping us truly understand her character development!

I do recommend that you read the Hot Holes series first before getting into the spinoff series just because I feel like you would have a better understanding of the backstory of the parents and also just because the books in that series are amazing. If nothing else I would read Defy before reading this book.

WOW, JUST WOW

Normally I wouldn't read novels about high school students, but I took a chance because I enjoy L.J. Shen. This novel utterly had me in awe. Seriously, what was her mother thinking? And, how did she not see that she was tearing her daughter apart? You know some rich people are selfish and toss their kids aside, but to actually ruin the life of a 14 year old. To treat her like crap in front of people and actually care more about someone else. This is one fantastic novel.

Wow

This book had me through all emotions. At first I was so angry. What horrible people. Everyone so petty and vindictive. But the longer I got into the story, the more the characters grew on me. And the queen bee turned out to be the purest of them all.
I loved their love for eachother. What a rollercoster ride. But I really liked it a lot.
