Publisher's summary

The fate of an empire lies in the hands of one untested princess.

Princess Natasia is the eldest child of the Emperor Andreth, ruler of the Four Realms. If she was a boy, she’d be the unquestioned heir to the throne. But as a girl, her main duty in life is to marry someone her father can shape into his successor.

Everything changes when an unknown, would-be assassin nearly takes Tasia’s life. Someone wants to destabilize the Empire - but who? Was the assassin aligned with the power-hungry Western lords, who have always rebelled against the Emperor? Was he hired by the barbarians in the East; who are fighting against the Empire’s subjugation? Or was he a member of the mysterious Cult of Culo?

Unsure of whom he can trust, the Emperor realizes that his daughter might be his best option for an heir. There hasn't been a female heir to the throne in living memory, but as palace intrigue becomes increasingly dangerous, the reckless, rebellious, and stubborn princess suddenly has to face the responsibility of learning to lead. Will she rise to the occasion? Or will the Empire fall at the hands of one of its many enemies?

For fans of epic fantasy...with an LGBTQ twist.

Best book I've read in a long time

This book has it all. Medieval politics, weird unexplained things looming in the horizon, scheming and betrayals, and a queer princess at the helm of it all. I honestly couldn't have asked for more. I am a big fan of this genre (have read all the A Song of Ice and Fire books) and I must say it was a treat reading this one too. And yes, it is somewhat like the Game of Thrones books (but less confusing tbh). So if that's your thing, I highly recommend you give this book a chance. I can't wait for the next one! 😊

A story with great characters in a mystical world

The story of princess Natasia is very compelling and will keep you reading. I found the world that the author has created fascinating and I am wonder where and how the main characters will navigate in future volumes. I would best describe this book to be like "Game of Throne" where the story main focus was on Character building and Political maneuvering. With the mystical elements being a minor part of the story, I found that what was given to the reader interesting and would like to see them expanded. The Narrator did an amazing job with injecting different accents and attitudes for each character in the book.
I enjoyed the love story which did not overtake the characters or world the author created and recommend to anyone who love fantasy novels.

One word - FANTASTIC!

I don't usually write reviews, but this one begged for one. It is a very captivating tale. Although it was a slow start, to develop the characters, once it got into the middle of the story it just won't let you go.... Meaning, I couldn't stop listening to it until it was finished. This is one of those books you don't want to turn off and when it's finished, it leaves you wanting more. Love the fact that you can look this up and read the beginning chapter of the next book - and believe me when I say, you will want to. Fantastic Job, Eliza Andrews, PLEASE.... get the Book 2 out soon, I will be one of the first to buy it.

NOT a fantasy fan, but loved this book!

Usually, I won't buy a fantasy themed book, but I have read some other good books by this author and saw the great ratings this book had, so I decided to go with it. I am very glad I did. This book falls into the fantasy category because, among other reasons, it has a princess in it, it's set in an imaginary world, and it has some magic in it. Normally, reading a book with that kind of content would be offputting for me. In Princess of Dorsa, however, the author balanced the fantasy content with equal, possibly greater portions of romance and action as well as strong character development. This book should appeal to a much broader range of readers than just fantasy fans. Even if this genre isn't usually your cup of tea, read the reviews and listen to the sample as I did, and give it a try. I was very happily surprised and I look forward to the sequels.
