Publisher's summary

When two people's lives are spiraling out of control, can coming together pull both of them back up?

Alexis Woods knows who she is - or at least, she thought she did. She's number 17, point guard, MVP, all-star, co-captain of the Lady Raiders NCAA Division I women's basketball team. But there's a darkness growing inside of her, a darkness that started the night her beloved died in her arms, and if she doesn't turn things around soon, the darkness just might swallow her whole.

Graham Griffin knows a thing or two about darkness. That's been her zip code ever since the car accident that took her boyfriend's life - the car accident she caused. When she meets Alex, she sees a reflection of her own sorrow. And she can't help but want to fix it.

A Cathartic Joy

This author is expressive and articulate. In "To Have Loved & Lost", she draws you into a deep relationship-oriented plot line. Her beautiful, flawed, tough and sensitive characters are raw, deep, and happen to be lesbian. It is wonderful and realistic how the characters being lesbian isn't the main focus of the book and being lesbian isn't their identity, but just a piece of who they are. I find it refreshing to discover an author, who can portray real women in real friendships as real people. Thank you, Eliza Andrews! I HIGHLY recommend this author and her first book categorized as LGBT fiction. Hopefully, it will encourage, warm, thrill, and entertain other readers as much as it did me!

Sleeper Hit!

Bought this title because none of my favorite authors had anything new out. I was pleasantly surprised. Good writing, lovely story, well fleshed out characters--a lovely journey.
Narrator was talented and well suited for the story. I was very pleased. I hope to hear much, much more from this author and narrator.

Great Book!

This is a great love story. I know the LGBT community would love it but I also think straight people would enjoy it. You forget the story is about two women and it becomes a story about how two people finding each other and growing together. It's a simple message that we all have baggage but when you find the right person, it doesn't matter. Loved it!

The title is perfect!!

This was a great book filled with all the feels and the excitement of basketball as well. I love sports but don’t get to watch it much, so this was very enjoyable to follow Alex in her venture. The love and loss for all the characters was a big challenge for them but they soon find peace within each other.

I’m so glad that Eliza write this book and I hope she will write more lgbt+ books :)

Loved the story. Had a hard time putting it down. Especially liked the depth of emotion touched upon and the human condition explored. Im looking forward to the second in the series.

Sort of a teen romance novel

I thought I would try this book. I hoped it would be a hidden gem. It was ok. The performance was meh. The story lacked luster. I don't regret buying it but...well...whatever.

At last!

So refreshing to read a book about gay women & then adds different ethnicities/cultures but without making a huge deal they are just themselves & that isn’t all about 2 fem women either.
All that & just a good honest romance- which I normally avoid but really enjoyed here in this LGBTQ+ format.
Give it a try & support a damn good author in an under represented genre.

100% immersive and engaging

Thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. It didn’t follow the formula of so many lesbian romance novels and kept you guessing. Would highly recommend

Brilliant, angsty, moving and honest.

Eliza Andrews is one of my top 2 or 3 authors of the past few years. She's a very accomplished writer, and her plots are beautifully structured to deliver the right amount of tension and emotional catharthis... But I think it's her angst that gets to me most, she has this ability to go deep emotionally that I love... Tho it can be a bit gutting at times... She's honest and vulnerable.. Something that few writers not honed in the healing waters of fanfic are able to produce, in my opinion...
This book displays all these talents, I read it a few months ago and listening to it only adds to the experience, like all the best audiobooks do, The reader is also excellent.... Phew!
So, get this, it's lovely!

I've listened to this book several times now and figured it's high time I left a review. Beautifully written with equally fabulous narration, this books holds my attention every time. Read /listen to it and pass along to friends to demonstrate that fiction featuring lesbian characters isn't all about simple romance storylines.

literally the best WLW romance I have ever read

And I have read a lot! Not just a formulaic mills and boon type - has a really quite compelling plot and the characters have fully formed backgrounds, realistic strengths and flaws. LOVE LOVE LOVE this book and will throw money at this author for anything else she writes!!

How to write a review that does this justice..

Well this was an unexpected surprise! An absolutely beautiful book and so superbly narrated. There’s a quality that reminded me of American Beauty: you find yourself not breathing as the tension plays out. The characters are so fleshy and genuine that you balance precariously along with them.
A big fan of Abby Craden, I have to admit I was blown away by the narration of Angela Rysk. Her husky gorgeous voice brought every moment to life.
I listen to a lot of books.
A LOT!
This is exceptional. Enjoy!
