Publisher's Summary

Enter Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series with this short story previously published in the Death's Excellent Vacation anthology.

Vampires Cat Crawford and her husband Bones's romantic vacation is interrupted when they're enlisted to guard a spoiled heiress with both human and undead hitmen on her tail. Things quickly go from bad to worse when details of their assignment make their way through the supernatural grapevine, and what started as a simple bodyguard job ends up being a fight for survival that neither Cat nor Bones saw coming.

Wrong narrator

Story was ok. Not her best. But to have a different narrator than Tavia Gilbert was so wrong. I love Amanda Roncini. She is the narrator for Molly Harper and does a great job. Using her just made an okay story just a little worse.

I really did not like the narrator on this story

I guess I'm just used to Tavia Gilbert. I listened all the way thru because I love the characters, but I didn't enjoy it as well.

Good story, not happy with the change in narrator.

Would you listen to One for the Money again? Why?

Maybe. I didn't like that there was a different narrator. It kind of ruined it for me. The story was good though.

What did you like best about this story?

I love anything from the night huntress world.

How could the performance have been better?

If the usual narrator was narrating.

Another Great Bones and Cat Story!

Where does One for the Money rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Totally love the story, have already read all the books, so like a vampire I am sucking in as many of the Bones and Cat stories that I can get.

What was one of the most memorable moments of One for the Money?

Cat and Bones coming together is always enough to keep your mind occupied.

What three words best describe Amanda Ronconi’s performance?

Not Tavia Gilbert

Any additional comments?

I really love the Cat and Bones story line. Have not read anything yet that has not captured my attention and pulled me in to the wonderful world of the Night Huntress. The only thing that I find wanting is the narration, now to be honest it might be that I am used to Tavia Gilbert's performance from other Night Huntress audio books purchased. Even so, I gave Amanda Ronconi the benefit of the doubt. She is godd, but I would have rather just listened to Bone's parts with straight up American accent than the accent that she used that swung from distinctly Aussie often and far from the semi-cockney version that seems more suited to Bones. It seems like she could not get the accent to stick. ome parts she sounded okay and then the Aussie would creep into her accent. Other than that, she did okay, but just okay.

different voice for Bones 😔

I was devestated by the different voice for Bones. The story was great, but I am sensitive above voice consistency.

LOVE CAT AND BONES!!!

Where does One for the Money rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Its a good short story!

What other book might you compare One for the Money to and why?

Its a cool Cat and Bones adventure...if you love them, you will love this!

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

I do love Amanda, she narrates Molly Harpers books, so I am very familiar with her..But she is not Tavia, and Tavia IS CAT AND BONES to me...that's why she only got 4 stars...But she did a good job!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

You can...its really short!!! And I did!!!

Any additional comments?

I love ALL of this series...and this was a good story...I would love to hear Tavia's version of this...but Amanda did do a really great job....and I loved this little short story....it was like getting an extra 3 chapters into this world...and it was well worth it!!! I recommend you take a listen, if you are Cat and Bones fans...you will love it!!!

Short story

Great short story with the main characters from the Night Huntress series. Bones & Cat kick behinds and save the day once again! Good storyline & plot development.

Not worth the money

This was rather disappointing. The story is okay but a little boring, and the narration is okay as long as you ignore the really bad English accent. All in all it was a real let down and at only an hour and a quarter long it is not worth the money.
