Yes I would...this is the kind of story that got me addicted to audible in the first place...Dystopic YA with a great storyline and a bit of romance!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Numbers Game?

When Treena finds her real dad, quite by accident...and when Treena also finds out her step dad signed away her empire..ooooh that ticked me off!

Have you listened to any of Stacey Glemboski’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I dont think so....but I would...and I am going to in book 2!

Treena lives in a very controp dystopic society....its all about following following rules and getting rated...there are reds, yellows, and greens....well when her day comes...everything goes wrong and she is given a very low rating and is in the red...she can not be with her boyfriend...she is a pariah in society..and a mystery unfolds....having an accidental run in with there leader, she makes a deal for a secret mission to raise her rank...but unbeknownst to her it is all a ruse..and she is in more danger than ever...she meets a new boy Vance and her heart is now conflicted...she finds her real father...and learns some painful truths...and a war ensues and she almost dies...she wakes up from a coma and learns not only has her rulership been taken from her, but she may never get to see Vance again!

What if your life was based on a number?

This story feels so relevant today when so much of life is based on online popularity. There were some similarities to The Hunger Games in the concept (even the title), but this book is its own creature, and has a wonderfully cinematic buildup to an excellent ending. I loved the characters--both main characters felt real, and I wanted them both to succeed. I laughed, I cried, I got surprised where there were twists. The narration, as always with Stacey Glemboski, was excellent (she's why I first read this book, I just love her narrations!) Overall, an excellent read! Can't wait to read the next one!

Divergent meets Hunger Games. Future Dystopia.

This book follows the current popular theme: Future dystopian world, totalitarian government, female main character, male crush...
There were a lot of parallels to Divergent with a hint of Hunger Games or the Matched series.
I thought that the whole book was very well written, thrilling, and all-around hard to put down. Definitely a winner that will hopefully follow in the footsteps of some of the more popular titles in this genre.

The book opens with Treena, the main character, preparing for her rating day. In this futuristic world, citizens receive ratings based on grades, how useful they are to society, and how well they adhere to strict social rules. Treena is expected by her peers to receive a top rating, allowing her to go on and do great things in the government and society. When the ceremony ends in her receiving the lowest rating in her class, and one of the lowest ratings that society can give, she is both devastated and confused. How could her rating have been so low? When she is offered a chance at reconsideration if she undertakes a mission that immerses her into a world of danger, she begins to discover things she never knew about the society she has spent her entire life trying to live up to. Why has their government really been suppressing and imprisoning those living in small villages on the outskirts of their society? Why did she really receive such a low rating? Was she part of some greater plot by her government?

In the very beginning (the first hour or so) I wasn't that impressed. However, as the story continued, I found my self more and more drawn in by the characters.

Narration was very well done as well. The narrator was perfect for the main character.

If you liked Divergent, Hunger Games, Matched, or some of the other similar books in this genre, then you will like Numbers Game.

it is a slow brew

took me a while to get through this. the story is fine. it just tooka long time to get to a part where i wasn't waiting for excitement. it does get there. this book is a slow brew.

If Divergent was actually good

This book follows every stereotype of a typical YA dystopian novel, from the class based society that determines people's roles, to the oh-so convenient romances and the completely irrational decisions they make.

And yet somehow this book still managed to entertain me. That's partially due to my own expectations. I went into this book not expecting anything extravagant, just looking for a typical YA novel to help stimulate the itch after taking a brief hiatus from the genre. That's exactly what I got and I was satisfied.

If you're looking for something quick, simple and entertaining, Numbers Game won't blow your mind but it is a good addition to the genre.

Best way to describe it: if Divergent was actually good.

Very good start to this series.

I read this series once already, well the first two books. Now that the third one is out I am rereading and I really enjoyed it again. Definitely recommend.

Good Story

What did you love best about Numbers Game?

I appreciated that things escalated quickly but, I would have liked more background on how the country got to where it was, but that's me. I also watch all of the special features, so more background may not be necessary for everyone. I liked the characters, they seemed believable and the trials proved overwhelming for the characters, which I feel like is true to life.

What other book might you compare Numbers Game to and why?

This book is really similar in genre to the Hunger Games and Divergent.

What about Stacey Glemboski’s performance did you like?

I didn't like her performance at first, but it grew on me and by the end I really enjoyed how she portrayed the characters. She seemed to get more engaged as the story went on as well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did nearly listen to the whole thing in one sitting. Once I got into it I was really curious how it would play out.

Any additional comments?

Overall I thought it was a good book and I would recommend it to those I know. I'm curious to see how things will progress in the next book.

Numbers Game

This book was really good! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was so close to Hunger Games and Divergent. It was unique in many ways, but my mind kept going to other books very similar to this. The book was well written and very well narrated. I would definitely recommend this book!

Action was a little choppy, hard 2 follow 2 people

Maybe next time cast another voice for 2nd perspective. Action was broken up by slower drama, otherwise a good plot.
