Publisher's summary

Set against the background of Saigon's desperate last days, this concluding volume to Carroll's extraordinary naval aviation trilogy follows the adventures of helicopter pilot Lt. Tim Boyle and his best friend, Lt. Mike Santy, as they struggle to pull off the final American withdrawal from Vietnam. Boyle and Santy find themselves in the midst of chaos and danger as they desperately attempt to evacuate a stranded team of Navy SEALs before the final collapse. Carroll's vivid writing puts us inside the cockpit of a Huey on a split-second rooftop landing, lets us feel the scorching heat of the jet afterburners, and takes us deep into the jungle, where the eerie silence is shattered by the crack of AK-47 rifles.

Filled with searing authenticity and adventure, No Place to Hide is a remarkable story of heroism, friendship, and sacrifice in the face of war.

good story but terrible narration.

I think this story would have been a LOT better if I wasn't so totally disappointed at the VERY POOR narration and abmyssimally poor editing job that was allowed to be released in this edition apparently without anyone listening to even the first 5 or 10 minutes of the program. And the poor quality of editing and narration are apparent throughout the entire story though the first dozen or so chapters are the worst.
I would love to listen to this story again read by and edited by a higher quality crew. I think the story would really shine then.

Well developed story

This was a riveting account of the last days of war. You will not be disappointed by the story or narrator.

Great story okay narration

The book is a good fiction based around the fall of Saigon and the helo evac at the time of the pilots. It provides a good standard towards events as they happen and provides a great story on the exploits of the main character in his SAR missions. The narration is OK. You can clearly hear everything but the narrator sounds like some airmen from the 1950's and his voice fluctuations are nominal. still worth the listen

Really good story but....

The storyline is very good. Narrator does not match tone of story. Well worth the listen if you can deal with that.

Hazzy History

I enjoyed reading it. 1yr old kid grad school, new job, another job change I had a hazing view of those years.

Could not get past the terrible narration

Could not get into the story as I could not get past the terrible narration. The narrator makes the main character sound like a sniveling adolescent.

Really slow start

Well written and well read, but the first 20 chapters were really slow. Almost deleted it a couple times but I was on a west coast flight and had nothing else. Second half was really good, and moved at a much better pace
