Publisher's Summary

One by one, they'll die....
Twenty years ago, wild child Jessie Brentwood vanished from St. Elizabeth's high school. Most in Jessie's tight circle of friends believed she simply ran away. Few suspected that Jessie was hiding a shocking secret - one that brought her into the crosshairs of a vicious killer.

Until there's no one left....
Two decades pass before a body is unearthed on school grounds and Jessie's old friends reunite to talk. Most are sure that the body is Jessie's, that the mystery of what happened to her has finally been solved. But soon, Jessie's friends each begin to die in horrible, freak accidents that defy explanation.

But her....
Becca Sutcliff has been haunted for years by unsettling visions of Jessie, certain her friend met with a grisly end. Now the latest deaths have her rattled. Becca can sense that an evil force is shadowing her too, waiting for just the right moment to strike. She feels like she's going crazy. Is it all a coincidence - or has Jessie's killer finally returned to finish what was started all those years ago?

Grow up

A past Lisa Jackson fan, I only finished listening to Wicked Game through sheer determination. Of the 16+ hours, maybe 4 actually advanced the storyline. The rest was teenage angst.

I like this series but ....

why is it necessary for women to do stupid things to move the plot forward

Decent

I enjoyed the story, I happened to start on book 3 which so far is the best of the series
But it was nice to see where it all started.
The reader initially drove me crazy but now I really enjoy her
Sometimes you should just give it a chance and you maybe pleasantly surprised

Great Series

Would you consider the audio edition of Wicked Game to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, the story has different subplots.

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

She good with changing the voices just enough to keep the characters desperate.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Wicked...

Any additional comments?

Audible has all four of the books recorded. However when you look at the series, the titles are different. I finally looked at Lisa Jackson's website and realized that I had listened to all fours. The titles on Audible are different than those on Lisa's site. Would be nice to have the correct listings. Although I enjoyed the series, it might have been better if they were listed in order.

I liked it.

I've seen many reviews complaining about this book having too many loose ends. That may be true, but it's a series. Not one where you can read each book separately, but a series that ties each book together (or so it seems from reading this book). Book 1 contains suspense, mystery, romantic aspect and the paranormal. If those things interest you then I would recommend this book. I hope the rest in the series are good too.

Fyi- I'm writing this review on a phone app, so sorry for any missed typos or auto corrections.

Overall a good book

Having already listened to the Siren Song novels this made more sense to me than it would have if I hadn't known those books.

At times this book dragged and was overly repetitive but that's what the speed increase button is for!

Love Susan Ericksons narration, she gives books a life that not all narrators can give, her narration saved this book from being one I regretted using a credit on.

Curiosity Piqued, But...!!!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Listening to Wicked Game wasn't a waste; however, it wasn't as enjoyable as I expected it to be.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot did not keep me on the edge, but I was intrigued enough to keep listening.

What three words best describe Susan Ericksen’s voice?

Dragging<br/>Annoying<br/>Rough

Do you think Wicked Game needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes, I do think Wicked Game needs a sequel because at the end of the listen, they pretty much said it wasn't over in so many words. I won't be exact since I don't want to spoil the ending.

Any additional comments?

I am not a fan of the authors' style of writing. The entire story is told from an unknown third point of view. This form of writing doesn't allow the reader to be immersed in the book because the characters' can't really be felt. The mysterious third person constantly tells you what is said and done. Thus, the story would have been much better if the characters' told their own story.

Longest book EVER and I'm not even through it yet.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No one

Would you listen to another book narrated by Susan Ericksen?

Yes, I have no problem with the narration.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The narrater.

Any additional comments?

I like Lisa Jackson but listening to this book seemed to take an eternaty and I'm not even through it yet. I don't know if I can bring myself to finish it.
