Publisher's Summary

Detective Mort Grant of the Seattle PD has finally decided to sell. The home where he and his late wife raised two kids feels too large and too full of old memories. His son is married and raising a family of his own, and despite desperate efforts to find her, Mort has lost touch with his wayward daughter. That is until the day she walks back into her childhood home and begs for his help.

For the last four years, Allie Grant has been the lover - and confidante, confessor, and counselor - of one of the world's most powerful and deadly men. But a sudden rash move has put Allie in the crosshairs of a ruthless Russian crime lord. Mort knows of only one place where Allie will be safe: with The Fixer.

As a hired desperado, The Fixer has killed 23 people - and Mort was complicit in her escape from the law. She has built an impregnable house, stocked it with state-of-the-art gear, armed it to the teeth, and locked herself away from the world. But even The Fixer may not be able to get justice for Allie when real evil comes knocking.

First Rate!!! A MUST read!

Lydia has been living quietly. Now Mort and another friend encourage her to become active again. But what does that mean when she is a vigilante? Allie, Mort's daughter, returns home after a 5-year absence. Who is Allie? Mort thinks he knows, but Lydia knows.

Our strong independent women (Allie and Lydia) with their atypical morals ponder the question, can they really change who they are? They have the real measure of each other.
Mort is on the crusade to save his daughter from the drug lords. He is determined to make right whatever went wrong between Allie and him long ago.

T.E. Woods has provided our protagonists, Lydia, and Mort in a situation which adds another dimension to their characters. Who they now after saving each other and their secrets being laid bare?

The action for The Fixer is not the same as in the previous books. This is imperative if you are a reader who excepts the usual formula for each series. This is still a very action packed. The suspense hinges on who are Lydia and Mort? How can she be The Fixer now that she has relationships with other people? Are the lives lost the results of inability to answer that question.

To understand the characters and their relationship you should read the other books first. If the audio does not come out soon, I might have to read the book.

This one is a roller coaster of a book...

What a good series this is! This book is so full of twists and turns and some really messed up family relationships. It has truth and lies and betrayal all interwoven in a story that makes it very difficult to decipher which is which until almost the end of the book.
The books ending through me with an unexpected change in the relationship between the two protagonists (Mort and Lydia) when Mort's daughter Allie, who is a real piece of work, leaves Lydia's home on her own terms with no word to her father.
This book is the third in the series with three more to go so far. I am certainly looking forward to the next three to be released in audio format.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Good Story

Story was good. I don't like the narrator. Her voices can be annoying at times.

Fantastic audio<br />

Loved this book by Woods. It is a trilogy I realize, but I skipped the 2nd book, and went directly to #3. This last book was filled with 2 or 3 plots woven cleverly into one story with interesting characters , some from the first story. A protagonist whose riddled with guilt about her past life, trying again to make amends, befriended by a dedicated detective , who wants to help her. Into this friendship comes the detective's long lost daughter. then the plot thickens. Some really bad guys are introduced into the mix and then it is edge of your seat time..
Christina Delaine's narration makes each one of these characters so real by painting a picture of each one with different speech patterns. You can almost see them.
The ending says another book, and I hope so. Janice

Suspense thriller at its very best!

The lady, T. E. Woods, can tell a hell of a story. This is the 3rd novel in her Justice series. (There are three more that are not yet available in audio.) The novels ideally should be listened to in order or at least The Fixed should be listened to first to understand who the fixer is and what she is capable of. Her name is Lydia Corriger and her occupation is psychologist. She helps her patients with psychological issues while kills people, but only those who need it. Narration by Christina Delaine is sheer perfection.

For those who like suspense thrillers this series is must listen. It is incredibly outstanding! Thanks to Audible listener Shelley whose reviews steered me to the Justice series. If you like the mystery/thriller genre she is the ideal Audible listener to follow. (I have never met or talked with Shelley, but her reviews have been my best source of new authors.) I VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this novel and this series.

A little too much fake drama

The story dragged on and had a lot of fake drama. It took sometime to move forward. At the end it wasn’t a real ending.
The narrators voice is annoying.

Loved it!!!

The writer held my interest throughout the book. The narrator has many different voices, you can easily differentiate the characters from one another. Looking forward to starting the next book in the series.

Good story! Intertwining characters!

I liked this book the best of the 3 I've read. Reveals aren't too early with the character twists. Would be a good thriller/suspense movie. Awesome narrator! Author T.E. Woods was spot on with writing ability in this book!
