Publisher's summary

Four months after the explosion at the Garden, a place where young women known as the Butterflies were kept captive, FBI agents Brandon Eddison, Victor Hanoverian, and Mercedes Ramirez are still entrenched in the aftermath, helping survivors in the process of adjusting to life on the outside. With winter coming to an end, the Butterflies have longer, warmer days of healing ahead. But for the agents, the impending thaw means one gruesome thing: a chilling guarantee that somewhere in the country, another young woman will turn up dead in a church with her throat slit and her body surrounded by flowers.

Priya Sravasti's sister fell victim to the killer years ago. Now she and her mother move every few months, hoping for a new beginning. But when she ends up in the madman's crosshairs, the hunt takes on new urgency. Only with Priya's help can the killer be found - but will her desperate hope for closure compel her to put her very life on the line?

Amazing follow up to The Butterfly Garden!

I'm not sure why this follow up to The Butterfly Garden has such bad reviews - I loved it and thought it was excellent!

Good listen

Let me say first this isnt The Butterfly Garden. I was expecting more of a follow-up to it. Maybe that is why the reviews are luke warm. The pace is more methodical and less frenzy. I enjoyed it though. I liked the pace and the back and forth that gave you a look into prey and predator. This is a new favorite author for sure.

Perfect follow on to Butterfly Garden

What did you love best about The Roses of May?

After I finished Butterfly Garden (which I also loved) I wasn't sure how it could be the beginning of a trilogy, but this was a perfect way to segue into a new but related story. I love the way she writes!!

What other book might you compare The Roses of May to and why?

This and Butterfly are along the lines of Silence of the Lambs or, as a friend suggested when describing to me before reading, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to pick one

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was difficult to put down

Any additional comments?

Will Damron was an excellent narrator but it was a little difficult at first to separate his voice as "him" from his voice as Eddison. I'm not sure I really liked the serial killer and FBI agents having the exact same voice. Siiri Scott was perfect.

I can listen to this over and over

Love it everytime I listen to it! I especially love how the Butterfly Garden is included. The best parts though are where the bad guys get it in the end.

Book 2 takes the cake

I thought I loved the butterfly garden... but then I read this and I loved it even more. Simple perfection. Couldn’t ask for more in a book. You must read it.

Great Continuation!

I love that this author is just disturbing enough without unnecessary details. Chilling, but not damaging.
