Publisher's Summary

A gripping new crime novel from global best seller Cathy Glass, writing as Lisa Stone.

No one is born evil...are they?

A lorry crashes on a dark, wet road. In the wake of the tragedy, a dying man receives another chance at life - but does he really deserve it? And if he lives, will those around him wish he hadn't?

When critically ill Jacob Wilson has a heart transplant, his behaviour becomes very strange. His worried parents and girlfriend try their best to understand his sudden mood swings, but as things worsen, they begin to live in terror of what they might find in their son's bedroom next - and as Jacob's personality morphs, so, too, do the lives of those around him....

This is a spellbinding crime novel with a dark heart from worldwide best seller Cathy Glass.

Am I really so out of Sync with every one else?

This is another awful, awful book - that makes three in a row for me: I have read about 15% of this book, and have yet to find a single character that I can tolerate - let alone like. The story just seems so crazy and over the top, and I really don't believe that people behave as they do here. Would a girl let a boy that she BARELY knows move into her flat with her - bearing in mind that he has just come out of prison. Erm, I don't think so! I won't go on with her unbelievable responses to the idiot! Yes - I know that there is domestic abuse - but no-one would get swept under this yoke within the first days/hours of his moving in! I just hate everyone in the story so far - the mamby pamby recipients of bad behaviour, the ill mannered and arrogant behaviour of the macho men! Grrrrrrr, I really need to check my blood pressure!

Really thrilling read

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The excellent story telling was expected from Cathy Glass.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I didnt like the narrator, she put me off of the book. Her constant switch between her own voice and the voices of the characters was slightly annoying, and all the men seemed angry so it was hard to tell them apart.

If this book were a film would you go see it?

No

A good yarn but patchy narration

A good story line covering an unusual topic. Narration was a distraction for me. Some really weird voices, particularly males, when characters introduced but fortunately not consistently applied throughout.
