A good start to the series

The ending wasn't as good as Ms Bank's Highlander series, but still worth the price. The suspense was good until the very end. The resolution was over too fast for me. I will be purchasing the series in order and hope book 5.5 resolves some of my questions about Rachel and Ethan

Bored

I was extremely bored by this story. I guess need more passionate characters. The main characters were duds.

Good read and narration..

I’ve looked at this book 100 times over the years but put off buying it because Maya Banks writes such dirty sex scenes, and that kind of sex is not for me. Anyway, I read a review where someone said this wasn’t the usual MB’s book, no BDSM like her other books have. So, I got it and I really enjoyed it. It was a sad love story that turned into a happy ending for Ethan and Rachel.

Rachel, who was supposed dead for a year only to have her grieving husband that she was alive and being held in South America by a drug cartel, held as leverage against a senator.

Needless to say, Ethan and his brothers went in after her and she was brought out with amnesia. She only remembered Ethan and his brother Garrett. But slowly memories came back, but not all of them.

It was a really good story, a love story/shoot’um’up book.

There was graphic sex, that I zipped past, and the F-bomb was used 72 times.

As to the narration: Harry Berkeley did a pretty good job but sometimes you could hear the saliva in his voice and you could tell he was forced to swallow.

Not an Adult Romance

Not much romance. Story was not exciting to keep your interest. Not going to waste money to buy more of Banks books.

KGI audiobook

Harry Berkeley does an awesome job voicing each character. He is my favorate KGI narator.

A new ROMANCE with Action Series for me to Read

This is a great new [to me] series by one of my favorite romance authors. If you are looking for Special Ops plot alone you will be disappointed as this book was about 60-70% family/romance and 30% action.

However, if you like a good mix...hunky guys protecting their country, families and lovers you will like this series.

Some strong language, violence and sexual situations; though much milder [in the intimacy department] than other Banks books (Sweet Series).

Obsessed with this story

Ethan and his brothers are ridiculously good and sexy. This one rang all of my bells and I throughly enjoyed the love story between Rachel and Ethan.

The exquisite mix of passion, suspense, and action

The exquisite mix of passion, suspense, and action made it really hard to stop listening. The raw emotion conveyed between characters moved me to tears on more than one occasion. The relationship dynamic within the Kelly family is enviable. What a great listen!

Good listen

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It's interesting. I didn't have to listen to it all at once, but it was OK. I like more "passion" in my books, but the story is good.

Have you listened to any of Harry Berkeley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I enjoy his voice. He did a good job as usual.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

More passion between the characters.
