Best Yet!!

Thought nothing could top Shea/Nathan's book but Rio/Grace's have done it. I loved Rio in the other books and was not disappointed in his story. My favorite KGI audio so far. Wish Audible add the series in book order instead of the skipping the first two books (Sam/Sophie and Ethan/Rachel books), hopefully these books will be added soon.

Heart Breakingly Amazing!!!

Any additional comments?

What I love about Maya Banks is that she knows how to write a strong female character without turning her into a raving, you know what and her male characters know how to be strong as steel with an inner core of sweetness!

So to put it simply if you are a fan of Maya Banks this is a series for you!

As always I encourage Audible to get the rest of the series as soon as possible!

Not for me

The narrator was excellent, but the book dragged, maybe because he read it slow. But had he not been so good with proper emphasis and great tone, I wouldn't have made it as far as I did.

The story is uber-boring. Even before he has met her, he's willing to sacrifice his life and his "team's" life for her. Really? He was supposed to be a hardened mercenary, not a naive young man or an idiot. It just was not believable. And I didn't see anything special about her or what she did for him.

The pace was super slow....it took hours just to describe a scene that in the book lasted for maybe 30 minutes. Way too much inner dialog; not enough real dialog between the characters.

Repetitive, repetitive, repetitive questioning by her about him...please! He had just risked his life to save her and she's sitting there suspecting that he is going to kill her. Makes no sense! Either the author had to fill up space or the heroine was really dumb.

I haven't read any other works by this author and I don't think I will -- just isn't my style.

Limburger with canned pears

What disappointed you about Echoes at Dawn?

Stinky cheese. The book was over the top with sickeningly sweet sap.

Has Echoes at Dawn turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, but instead of books being given ratings for 'level of sensuality', maybe they should also be given a 'cheesiness' rating. Perhaps some readers may enjoy a book full of excessive explanations the depth and level of "love" reached after such a short period of time.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Harry Berkeley?

Sure. He did well with that which he had to work.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Echoes at Dawn?

The telepathic link which was flooded with emotional buckets of sap.

Love RIO!

Loved this book. I like the narrator's accent. Great performance. Best book of the series. Can't wait for Sam's book.

I felt every word... ~sigh~

I read all of the KGI series and for a while there Ethan and Rachel's book was my number 1, but then Nathan and Shea came along... But after reading and listening to Rio and Grace's story unfold my opinion has changed because by far this is the best out of all!

Ms. Banks I LOVE YOUR BEAUTIFUL MIND! Keep it coming and make sure we don't wait too long for the audible version of the other books in this series. I can't wait for Rachel and Ethan's novella and of course PJ & Cole too.

I wonder whose next... Steele? Diego? Donovan? Joe?

A sexy narrator does not hot romance make

I keep thinking with the story lines Ms. Banks imagines, that she will make a story pop. This just is not the case. I also don't see the tie-in with the title. Ms. Banks' books have p lost a lot of their edge. Although a positive in Echoes at Dawn is that the hero and heroine are both individually strong and as a couple. I did like that Rio was a plainspoken and honorable person. Rio was courageous, solid, and true. He didn’t sugar coat anything with Grace, told her the truth. I I did not like how they seemingly feel in love under the circumstances. Some have said that the hero and heroine's interactions was intense and emotion. I actually did not care about either of them at all and jus wanted the book to be at an end. Sorry May--I give up on your books.

A G-rated listen by Maya Banks.

This listen was just ok. This seems to be a series and this is the first I've listened to. The storyline is similar to others...a family of big hulking brothers and the women they rescue and then go to bed with. There are much better out there. The narrator did a good job.

Boring...put me to sleep

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story needed to move a bit faster and have more focus on other characters. I heard a lot of repeating conversations.

What was most disappointing about Maya Banks’s story?

Just didn't hold my interest

Did Harry Berkeley do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes with accents and changes in his tone.

What character would you cut from Echoes at Dawn?

Not cut but add more interest in why they are there and more of their background

Any additional comments?

The love affair was steamy but the overall story wasn't

Sexy A-Team

3.5 * This book started out with a bang and had a great premise about a set of sister healers. I loved the story right up to the point where it turned into 50 Shades of Gray. I'm not a prude and I love a bit of romance/sex added to my favorite suspense/thrillers, however, it just felt like it became very specific and more like filler and/or an anatomy lesson. A little left to the imagination, in my opinion, is more sexy and can be more romantic. Besides that I loved the strong characters and the story, the fast pace and ever changing plot twists made it exciting. The narration was great and I will look for earlier books in the series.
