Publisher's Summary

When an attack leaves one of the members of the Women's Murder Club struggling for her life, the others fight to keep a madman behind bars before he hurts anyone else. And Lindsay Boxer and her new partner in the San Francisco police department try to stop a series of kidnappings: children and their nannies are being plucked off the streets.

Amid uncertainty, Lindsay juggles the possibility of love, an unsolvable investigation, and the possibility that a member of the club could die. When everything appears to be under control, the case takes a turn, and puts the city in danger. Lindsay must make a choice with no certainty that either outcome has more than a prayer of success.

disappointing at best

What a bore. There is simply no suspense and mystery in this book. Everything is predictable and there are few interesting moments. When you find out what the 6th target is, you find yourself shrugging and saying "so what?" Don't waste your time on this one.

Disappointing for me

I have just about EVERYTHING that James Patterson has in audio and half a dozen novels in print... by far this was the most disappointing audio I have listened to by JP. The ending was absolutely horrible and I would have to say close to the worst book ending I have ever heard; even if there might be a sequel. Sorry JP, this one wasn't for me but I will grab up the next one you publish... still. I love your writings; especially the Alex Cross series.

A fast listen

I'm a fan of some of James Patterson books - the Alex Cross series and the Women's Murder Club series. The 6th Target is as fast-paced as the previous books in the series and I find I actually enjoy listening to his books better than reading them. The plot was good - kept me interested but didn't get too confusing (although there were several plot lines going, so you wouldn't want to take long breaks or you might have a hard time following along), and the narrator was very good. This is a good one to listen to while doing something mindless and boring - I listened to the whole thing while mulching the yard one weekend.

The 6th Target

I enjoyed the book from start to finish. It kept wanting more. I enjoyed the characters. The only thing I missed was the friendship of Lindsey Murder Club.

Patterson should slow down

Was a big fan of Patterson, but he is getting to greedy/Boring. Putting out books every couple of months instead of concentrating and dedicating time to one good solid book is his down fall. This book should have been called The 6th BORE!!!! Patterson is getting more and more predictable and his ending are like watching Paint dry. Enough with Boxer and Joe, either marry them, kill one of them, or make up your mind. My tip to Mr. Patterson is to retire!!!!

The 6th Target

I'm a big fan of Patterson and this installment of The Women's Murder Club series did not disappoint me. His characters are real and their lives are real, Boxer is growing/changing. If you want everything tied up with a bow you will be disappointed. I on the other hand can't wait for the next book. Keep up the good work Mr. Patterson and please do not make us wait to long for the continueing story of Lindsey Boxer and her gal pals.

Really good read

Loved the story line and characters. Could have done without the cheesey music between chapters.

Good

If you've stayed with the series so far you know what to expect. Too many different stories in this one.

Boring

Every step was predictable. Writers more interested in describing what Lindsey is wearing than describing any investigative insight.... oh wait... there were no moments of investigative insight. Couldn't wait for it to end.

I agree with David from Collinsville

Pretty good except for the lack of an ending... i wonder if there will be a sequel in the near future???
