Publisher's Summary

Jordan Buchanan is thrilled that her brother and best friend are tying the knot. The wedding is a lavish affair - for the marriage of Dylan Buchanan and Kate MacKenna is no ordinary occasion. It represents the joining of two family dynasties. The ceremony and reception proceed without a hitch - until a crasher appears claiming to be a MacKenna guest. The disheveled and eccentric professor of medieval history warns that there's "bad blood" between the couple's clans, stemming from an ancient feud that originated in Scotland and involving the Buchanan theft of a coveted MacKenna treasure.

Jordan has always led a cautious life and has used her intelligence and reason to become a successful businesswoman. So she is intrigued but skeptical of the professor's claims that the feud has been kept alive by the grave injustices the Buchanans have perpetrated over the centuries. But when Noah Clayborne, a close family friend and a man who has never let a good time or a pretty girl pass him by, accuses Jordan of being trapped in her comfort zone, she determines to prove him wrong and sets out on a spontaneous adventure to the small, dusty town of Serenity, Texas, to judge the professor's research for herself.

Maneuvering through a close-knit community in which everyone knows everyone else's business, Jordan never anticipates the danger and intrigue that lie in her path, nor the threat that will shadow her back to Boston, where even in familiar surroundings, her life is at risk.

A powerful thug who rules by fear, a man who harbors a simmering secret, and an unexpected romance that pierces all defenses - beloved author Julie Garwood weaves these dazzling elements into a brilliant novel of romantic suspense.

Love a Good Garwood Novel

I like this storyline. Garwood does not have a cookie cutter pattern. Okay, there are some items in common but the characters are different and the men are not all playboys as this one is. I like that after all these years, she is still able to shock me on who done it!

Original Julie

IMlokemthe old Juliemstories, do not like the narrator for the Beuchanan stories, she is better at the historical novels, but her voice for male voices is very irritating, she sounds like a heavy smoker, ugh don't like it at all, but love the story, I wished Julie would stick for wha it works, and write the newer stories with that in mind and also find a better narrator for her stories, and hopefully she will finish the saga of the other Beachanan brothers and sisters.

Fun Read!

Would you consider the audio edition of Shadow Dance to be better than the print version?

I would actually. I listened to this book with my boyfriend as we made a long 9 hour road trip. It was wonderful to listen to the story with him. Having read the book a few years ago I remembered some of the plot points and twists but it was great reliving it with him.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Certainly it did. It made the whole roadtrip that much more enjoyable when we had such a great story to listen to. There were a few moments were we even looked at each other with faces of pleased shock as certain things happened to our main character that were quite unexpected.

Which character – as performed by Joyce Bean – was your favorite?

Together my boyfriend and I loved Jordan. She was a great character that the two of us could relate to in terms of our profession. She was smart and really easy to understand and get behind. Jordan is one of the realer characters I've listened about in a long time.

Any additional comments?

Reas this book. It is worth your time. :)
