Publisher's Summary

The richest of New York's rich gather at the Pierre's Cotillion Room to raise money for those less fortunate. The mayor - with Detectives Zach Jordan and Kylie MacDonald of the elite NYPD Red task force providing security - is on hand to applaud the Silver Bullet Foundation's new plan for public housing.

A fatal blast rocks the room, stirring up horrifying memories of 9/11. Is the explosion an act of terrorism - or a homicide?

A big-name female filmmaker is the next to die, in a desolate corner of New York City. Zach and Kylie investigate, and the intimate details of the director's life remind them of their own impossible situation - their personal relationship seems as unsolvable as the murders.

The crimes keep escalating, and the perpetrators may be among the A-list New Yorkers NYPD Red was formed to protect. Their insane pursuit of ever-greater pleasures, indulgences, and thrills could be the catalyst of destruction on an unthinkable scale. Zach and Kylie track a shadowy killer as he masterfully plays out his vendetta-and threatens to take down NYPD Red in the bargain.

Good book, good series Excellent Narrator!

I found this book to be exactly what I expected it to be from Patterson and Karp. This is a good solid series with all the requirements for a mystery novel.
This book has two major plots going on. One is the murder of a sex addicted woman in the film industry. The other is that of a bomber in NYC who is assumed to be a terrorist.
The publisher's summary sets up the book very well and I would not want to add anything else that might ruin this for anyone else. There are a few unexpected twists especially at the end with the terrorist case.
This book is certainly worth the credit.
Now Edoardo Ballerini is fantastic. I always look forward to listening to him and he did not disappoint.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

not as much as the first two in the series but still a solid James Patterson collaboration. not the first time first time James Patterson had me rooting for a bad guy.

Another Great Red Book!

When James Patterson first started teaming with other authors, I questioned his wisdom. As this book illustrates, his decision was a stroke of genius. Unlike other authors that write series books, his stories stay fresh, interesting and unique. I think this book may be my favorite of the Red series. You end up cheering on the criminal and hating the victims. The complex relationship between former lovers now police partners continues to be interesting without overtaking the story. A very enjoyable read!

A little too much going on but good.

A little too much going on at the same time. The storyline could have been a little simpler. But I still love James Patterson!

Who wrote this?

The characters are not redeemable, nor is the plot! I’m sorry I wasted my money and my time on this.

Red Alert Could NOT stop listening

I have either read or listened to most of James Patterson books. I literally could not wait to start the audible up again. It just kept you on the edge with the multiple murders. The characters were just as good as Alex Cross and Michael Bennett I thought.
