#1 New York Times bestselling author Daniel Silva delivers another stunning thriller in his action-packed tale of high stakes international intrigue.

A brutal murder, a missing masterpiece, a mystery only Gabriel Allon can solve . . .

Art restorer and legendary spy Gabriel Allon has slipped quietly into London to attend a reception at the Courtauld Gallery celebrating the return of a stolen self-portrait by Vincent van Gogh. But when an old friend from the Devon and Cornwall Police seeks his help with a baffling murder investigation, he finds himself pursuing a powerful and dangerous new adversary.

The victim is Charlotte Blake, a celebrated professor of art history from Oxford who spends her weekends in the same seaside village where Gabriel once lived under an assumed identity. Her murder appears to be the work of a diabolical serial killer who has been terrorizing the Cornish countryside. But there are a number of telltale inconsistencies, including a missing mobile phone. And then there is the mysterious three-letter cypher she left behind on a notepad in her study.

Gabriel soon discovers that Professor Blake was searching for a looted Picasso worth more than a $100 million, and he takes up the chase for the painting as only he can—with six Impressionist canvases forged by his own hand and an unlikely team of operatives that includes a world-famous violinist, a beautiful master thief, and a lethal contract killer turned British spy. The result is a stylish and wildly entertaining mystery that moves at lightning speed from the cliffs of Cornwall to the enchanted island of Corsica and, finally, to a breathtaking climax on the very doorstep of 10 Downing Street.

Supremely elegant and suspenseful, A Death in Cornwall is Daniel Silva at his best—a dazzling tale of murder, power, and insatiable greed that will hold listeners spellbound until they finish listening.

Great listen waiting for the next episode, I can’t imagine what else he can do at his age, talking about Gabriel Alon.

This is a great story with a perfect amount of humor and call backs to previous events.

Excellent story

Of all the characters in the many fictional books that I read, Gabriel Allon is my favorite character. This book continues his story in a most interesting and fun way. But it also tells a story about a problem we face around the world of the rich and the poor and the ways that the rich try to maintain how rich they are. As Mr. Silva speaks to in the chapter after his ending, that problem is not getting any better. nevertheless, Silva’s continuing story about Mr. Allon and his interesting life is always a pleasure to listen to. Eduardo Ballerini steps in as the narrator of this book and is excellent. I must say, though that as much as I have enjoyed these books, there is a sadness I feel at the end of this one because no doubt we are coming to the end of the books that can be about Gabriel Allon. It’ll be interesting to see how Mr. Silva handles the next few books of the series.

Another excellent Silva book

The description

I liked this book as I have liked all the Allon books. I prefer the old ones when Gabriel still worked for Mossad, the new ones are not as exciting

I’ve read them all

I enjoyed the latest of Gabriel Allon’s adventures. #24 and I wait for every single one. It’s literally a highlight for me- something to look forward to and treat myself. I do not want to disparage Edoardo, the narrator, but rather I’d like to make a point with Daniel Silva that these books are very special to your readers and george guidall’s narration takes them to the next level, one which these books deserve. I hope 25 will return to guidall.

Please bring back george guidall

I really enjoyed how the author brought back several characters introduced in previous novels and wove them into this remarkable story. The narrator was superb. I loved it!

Another excellent Gabriel Allon novel!

There are lots of great twists and turns in another excellent story in the Gabriel Allon series. Well done.

Excellent Again

Having now read all 24 of the books in this series, I was astonished by the freshness and impact of this most recent title. One would almost expect to grow tired of a character after so many stories, but Gabriel remains exciting and clever along with a cast of characters that are delightful. I admire the way Silva explores important issues like banking and money laundering along with issues from the art world. This was one of his best!

Silva keeps getting better and better
