The riveting new thriller from Marshall Karp, cocreator and coauthor, with James Patterson, of the #1 New York Times bestselling NYPD Red series

A CARTEL KINGPIN WITH ONE LAST DEADLY SCORE TO SETTLE

They call him el Carnicero—the Butcher. He is the most powerful drug lord on the planet, and when the city of New York incurs his wrath, he utters a single word: “¡Venganza!”

With military precision, he strafes Central Park with 4,000 pounds of cocaine, killing hundreds of innocent people enjoying a summer afternoon.

The only NYPD unit trained to go up against this level of terrorism has been disbanded, but four anonymous billionaires retaliate by recruiting a task force of highly decorated retired cops. Armed with cutting-edge technology, former NYPD captain Danny Corcoran leads his team in a pulse-pounding thriller in their battle to stop the enraged head of a Mexican cartel from raining more death on the city.

I listen to this on audiobook . The book had two narrators and it really only needed one . The narrator of Danny the main character was horrible . I have listen to a lot of audiobooks and this was by far the worst narration I have listen to . By the time I got to the end I was muscling thru . I have wrote this guys name down just so I know not to listen to him read anything ever again . The story was ok kinda far fetched by entertaining . The characters where not very flushed out and just seem to pop up in the story give you what useful information you need and then pop back out . Overall it was a decent way to pass some hours while working but I won’t be running out to find another book by the author .

Good story poor audio narration

The story was a little slow for my taste. The characters were a bit dry. I would recommend for something to listen too while driving.

Not to bad.

As in all of his stories, this one is so captivating and engrossing I had to set a timer to get back to reality.

I can't wait for the next one !

Another fantastic story!

Well sometimes the story was a bit predictable predictable, I enjoyed the character development, particularly the I'm a particularly the development of the Big Bad Guy in the story. Fantastic audio book!

This was my second read by this author as a solo writer (without James Patterson), and I have to say that it did him justice. This was an entertaining listen with a satisfactory plot, characters, and ending. My one gripe is with the narrator. I did not feel that his voice was right for Danny’s character—he sounded more like a professor or lawyer, and did not give bad-a$$ ex-cop/marine at all. And the narrator’s female voices were awful. lol.

An Entertaining Read
