Double Trouble

Another engaging saga with familiar characters from the detective agency Private. More intrigue between the brothers, clients, and action filled. Narration is excellent.

Patterson does Not Live Up To Best Seller Status

Patterson is a best selling author and I was have been working my through various series quickly, so it was really only a matter of time before I tries Patterson. I don;t now anything at all about Maxine Paetro. The story is multi-dimensional, like all crime novels and screenplays these days. The reader is pretty good, but weak on women's voices (not a huge slam on a male reader). I think where the Private series falls apart for me is in the plot development. I lose interest. Part of it is that the writers do not get the reader engaged enough to care about the details. Maybe it reads too much like a formula, so we know everything will work out in the end and we don't particularly care about the characters.

See my review of the second book in the series for more.

A Good , Strong, Basic story line........

Has Private: #1 Suspect turned you off from other books in this genre?

First Patterson & Not Disappointed...Much

If you could sum up Private: #1 Suspect in three words, what would they be?

Enjoyed the ride

What other book might you compare Private: #1 Suspect to and why?

None, didn't normally listen to Patterson or the like.

Have you listened to any of Scott Shepherd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. His performance was spot on. He brought the story alive for me.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wanted to but I finished over 2 days

Any additional comments?

The music came at weird times & wasn't necessary - it added nothing to the story. I found myself rolling my eyes quite a few times because of how arrogant the main character is. Got kinda tired of listening to how great, good looking & rich he is. It got old fast.

Disappointed

Not a good Patterson book. Story weak. Too much repetitive narrative on Jack’s Afghanistan experiences.

James Patterson knows how to tell a story!

Private is the 2nd book in the 'Private' series.
Like most stories from JP this one is engaging and entertaining. Characters are well defined and easy to follow. Plot had twists and turns and sometimes leaves you guessing. Which for me, says get the next book!

Another good read

Good always like this series. Have listen to several books. Why does Audible make you leave a 15 word comment?
