Publisher's summary

The predators become prey in a breathless novel of revenge from a USA Today bestselling author.

Still haunted by his wife's murder - and stained by the blood of avenging it - FBI special agent Hatcher McGee can't believe he's being teamed up with rookie agent Korine Davenport. She is his most guilty secret - the one-night stand who almost cost him everything.

Korine has her own demons. As a child, she witnessed her father's murder, and she's spent her life waiting for the killer's return. She and Hatcher are both looking for closure, but the disturbing case that draws them together could be their last.

When the mutilated body of a corrupt Savannah judge surfaces, Hatcher and Korine find themselves on the trail of a vigilante who is showing no mercy. Not for the predators who've gone free. And not for anyone who gets in the way.

As the body count rises, and as Hatcher's and Korine's own pasts unfold, they must risk their lives tracking a killer they've come to understand all too well. After all, the ends justify the means.

Nice start to a new series...

Rita Herron writes a good mystery. This book has two FBI (Hatcher and Korine) agents searching for a vigilante. The person is targeting not only those who commit a crime but a judge who allowed a rapist to go free on a technicality. The bodies of the victims are left where they will easily be found.
Both of the FBI agents investigating have had a close family member murdered. They have also been involved in a past sexual relationship that lasted one night. That was the night Hatcher's estranged wife was murdered. The killings are gruesome and personal
The are some really good psychological twists, family secrets and friends who aren't so friendly.
Some parts believable some not so but all in all a pretty good read.

Crazy number of of plot twists!

I'm not a fan of Rita Herron's romance suspense mysteries, but I purchased Pretty Little Killers for $1.99 when it was released intending to keep it for listening when I had nothing else. After Audible listener Shelly wrote a 4 star review I decided to listen. The novel is a wild ride with plot twists keeping it interesting.

Same old story...

Boring and predictable with a bunch of silly sexual tension. This story has been told a hundred times already.

Good story monotone narration

The narration ruined this one for me. Very monotone. I could have enjoyed this so much more with better narration.

Enjoyed it

It took me a while to finish this one simply because it was my lunchtime listen, but I finally got there! I came in knowing nothing about it other than that it involved FBI agents and vigilantes, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was a romantic suspense story. The plot is a little predictable in some places but surprising in others, and Andi Arndt’s narration is great. The characters have a past both with each other and their own demons, and there was a second I had to make sure this was Book 1 because I felt like maybe I missed the first one, but no, this is the first. All good! :) There are some themes that some people might not like, but it does say “disturbing case” in the plot summary, so that is up to the reader to vet ahead of time. Personally, I liked it because chasing down killers is not a pretty job in real life, and I don’t expect it to be in good fiction about people chasing down killers either. I liked the characters and the writing style so I’ll have to check out the rest of the series.

Good suspenseful romance

I always enjoy the story more when I can’t figure out “thy bad guy“. This is The case with this story. It was well written and it did have some steam in it. I was surprised at the end at who did it but that’s what I like. I like when I’ve been out fooled. Would definitely read another one of her books.

Predictable and yes, hormones abound

This one is free with Kindle Unlimited. That's why I listened. No sane human likes violent rapists, child molesters, misogynistic judges, wife beaters and murderers. This is assumed. Some hilariously bad writing at times. A mystery of sorts. All this, and 2 cops lusting after one another endlessly. Narration was decent.
