Just getting better!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely recommend. This is Flynn at his best. A delight to see common sense and dedication triumph over politics and petty aspirations.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Finished it in a few days. Delayed sleep until 2:30am to get the end of the story.

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

Well, he is simply the best. period. It is simply not Mitch Rapp when told by someone else, however good he is.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It was nice to see Rapp getting upset with the President.

Any additional comments?

Would have been nice to invite Canada's Prime Minister for Memorial Day.

Great spy novel!

If you like spy novels, you will love this one. It’s very believable and is action-packed!

Would you listen to Memorial Day again? Why?

No......BUT not due to the story. I know the narrator is has a great reputation but he seemed a little off on this one. Normally I love George Guidall!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Memorial Day?

I very much enjoyed the action, fast pace, and the book was easy to follow the storyline.

Would you listen to another book narrated by George Guidall?

Yes.....I have listened to several of his books and normally he is fantastic!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No......Good book but the action and plot was predictable but I still enjoy Rapp......

Definitely worth reading for the price. If you are a Rapp fan, then this is a definite book you will want to listen to......

The one that hooked me.

Memorial Day by Vince Flynn remains to be one of my favorite audio books. I would recommend it to just about anyone for its intensity, action, dialogue and characters. This is one of Flynn's best, bar none.

So this is where it all started for me. Several years ago I decided I wanted to read more...but I didn't want to read...know what I mean? I had felt this way before...feeling I was missing out on rich and wonderful experiences and thought-provoking and entertaining stories. A veritable ocean of millions and millions of works that I had never really dipped my toe into. Then I had an epiphany...audio books! For the life of me, I can't figure out why I hadn't thought of this before, but thankfully I eventually did. Enter Memorial Day, Vince Flynn and Mitch Rapp.

Not only is this the book that got me hooked on Flynn's writing, but also one of the first few that changed me into a life-long audio book reader...listener? Audiobooker? And I mean hooked to the point where I used to travel across the state of Connecticut to different libraries to get my hands on the next audio book in the Mitch Rapp saga. I eventually discovered inter-library loans, which cut down my traveling time (but I still kind of miss the hunt) and finally began my torrid affair with Audible.

The significance of Memorial Day in Memorial Day centers around a celebration in Washington D.C. that will concentrate some 500,000 celebrants, including dozens of dignitaries and heads of state from other countries, upon the National Mall. Unfortunately for all this is too tempting a target for several crafty Mujahideen (Jihadist militants) bent on dealing a debilitating blow to the infidels.

To me, the intensity of this audio book is due in no short part to the fact that the events are all too terrifying...and plausible. Shudder to think. That alone is one of the many reasons that I was instantly hooked on Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series. I don't think it took me more than a few weeks to finish all 10 or 11 (at the time) that were published. I absolutely devoured them. Even though I started this series out of order, it didn't have much impact on my enjoyment. I only felt I was missing a bit of back story. Either way, I highly recommend this book.

Best Rapp book I’ve listen to

Rich story with non stop action. Could not stop listening as crescendo built toward conclusion. Very enjoyable read.

loved it! best part was ending with mitch's frustration with our govt politics! "it's a goddam war not a police action" should be a major movie or series!

Riveting story well delivered. Who doesn't want to be on Mitch Rapp's team! Hopefully we're not giving ideas to jihadists.
