One of Koontz' best, entirely enjoyable.

I am an occasional Dean Koontz fan, I've read several of his books and have had mixed opinions about them. I like his novels that have a more serious tone, like this one does. Not a lot of "boy-meets-girl" crap and corny dialogue, as in some of his novels. This is just a very well-crafted story that moves very smoothly along, with suspense in all the right places. Classic Koontz. I'm very glad I got this one, it was a good use of a credit.
The narrator did an excellent job, too. It was the first time I'd heard him, and I was very impressed with his skill.

One of My Favorite Koontz Books

Three of my favorite Koontz books are Watchers, Strangers and Lightning, written one after another in the late 80s. In Lightning, Koontz provides the fast paced, suspenseful storytelling he is known for, and well developed characters that you care about. The narration is excellent. I couldn't leave this one in the car. I had to take it inside and play it through.

Honestly...it was a clean page turner!

This is probably the best book I've read on time travel to date. The story was not overly complicated with scientific garbage, but there was enough to make the story believable! The twist in the story in part 2 was brilliant although i thought the motive behind the time traveler should have been a more fatalistic one. for the most part, everything was well thought out. The book is definitely worth a credit or purchase...

Daily Deals provide a heck of deal!

No way I'd have read this had it not been a daily deal. So glad I did!
If nothing else, this book gives you characters you will love. It's an interesting twist on time travel and all it's paradoxes. And it's a mystery that surprised me, something I'm always grateful for.

Good Story - well written, starts quickly

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but pleasantly surprised. Not really a horror, more sci-fi – but a good read. Some characters were quite amusing, others were uneventful – but that’s how it’s supposed to be, I guess.

Sci-Fi fans would like this more that horror fans…not scary or nail-biting, but an interesting story.

It's Not The Book, It's Me"

Maybe the Dean Koontz I thought I knew is not the Dean Koontz that is so widely popular. I enjoyed the previous book I read, ‘The Good Guy”. It was not science fiction. Lightning is a science fiction. I know for a fact that I will have to read reviews better before choosing another book of his to avoid paranormal activity.

This book was just not my cup of tea. I was good with the basic story even the little strangeness here and there and yes, I enjoyed the best ever education in paradoxes for dummies. But, it went from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants to Traveling Nazi’s looking for Weapons of Mass Destruction overnight and lost me completely. When I see scientific proof of time travel, then I might see a reason to read about chase scenes through the decades.

Well Done

I’m a Dean Koontz fan and if you are, this book will not disappoint! If you are not familiar with his work, I think you will enjoy. The narrator, Christopher Lane, does an amazing job with the story. A well written and well narrated story!!!

Very entertaining!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anybody who wants to be entertained! Remember that this is fiction....there is time travel and Winston Churchil makes a cameo appearance...

What did you like best about this story?

This is a page turner that you will want to listen to in one sitting. The time travel premise is interesting and presented in an original way, the characters are sufficiently developed and very likable. Another listener described her experience reading book as "satisfying"; that is the perfect adjective. This is pure entertainment.
